Just wanting peoples thoughts. I have read a lot about us needing to strenghten the left hand side, but does anyone think the right hand side is greater priority? I personally think Martial + Rashford are stronger than Mata + Lingard.

Rash played most of last season on the RHS miki can play both sides in fact most can interchange.

I said before the transfer window opened we needed attacking fullbacks in both left and right side. Shaw may come back stronger but that is an if and velencia for an ex winger does not attack and overlap enough and his delivery ia not the
Best.

Left side needs strengthing for sure but at left back i think we are ok on that side for attacking options. The right side needs strengthing at full back and only a worldie for me would be better option than mata.

Transfer window has been average got in two great players matic and lakaku, Lindalof unsure yet hasn't played to be able to judge him. Very disappointed we haven't strengthened RB and LB this window, but greedy but would have liked a proper wide man, but we will have to see what Jose can do with what we have. Sanchez move to city should put them and pep under massive pressure to walk the league which could be good for us.

Agreed Jamie. I'm delighted with matic and lukaku but we're way short on the left side and wingers. We do not possess a man with a year factor. Sanchez will be ideal but looks City bound. I've already got them as champions, but if Sanchez signs for them then everyone else will be playing for 2nd place.
Our transfer window has been average after all the hype when it opened.

I reckon there'll be a massive dressing room bust up at some point at city over playing time. Too many attsckers, not enough quality defenders or midfielders. And they can't rely on refs to bail them out every game.

Mata and Lingard is very weak for a team expecting to win major competitions as starters. Full backs are also.

I also think Rash and Miki look average at best in the RW spot. We had several areas to strengthen, progress is good, but it might have been better if we had a difficult start, playing weaker teams may just have created a false impression. Time will tell.

City look good but they can only play 11, the game is played on the pitch not paper .

How many people had them winning the league last year?

Your right beast imo. We hsve only had to start 22 playerz we hsvnt had to use the swiad players. If we have to start the likes of fellaini darmian rojo 20 plus times in the league we can only hope for 3rd or 4th. These guys are ok to fill a gap or to come on for 20 mins but if they have start 20 plus epl games they will be exposed just like they have been for the last few years.
Lets hope we get luck with injuries and we don't have to rely on these guys to start 20 plus games.

Lol worse squad in 20 year .

Not using squad players must be the new theme .
Rash martial Herrera fellaini have all come of the bench so far .
Lindelof can't even make the bench
Young ibra shaw rojo all injured and we still have a strong bench.

I have City up there as one of the favourites (alongside us hopefully) but I never understand posters who are so sure in their opinions "city will walk the league" or "united 3rd or 4th at best". Its like some people only started watching footy yesterday. This time last year people said City would walk the league but they ended 3rd I think. Conte was about to get sacked but then won the league with the likes of Moses and Cahill starting most games. The season before; Leicester won the league! Perhaps factors such as form, teamwork and tactics are as important as flashy new players? We look in better shape this year with the likes of Pogba, Mikhi, Martial etc etc all performing better so far. Its great to have opinions and strong ones at that - but anyone who thinks they know how the league will look come May is taking a huge leap of faith Imo. Let's see what happens.

HB i think if the players in the postions where we have weak back up stay fit and available and play 80% of the games we can win the league. In the last few seasons a lot of the back up players like carrick fellaini darmian rojo blind and jessie have had to start too many games and have been 1st team regulars. All are good pros and have had good impacts at times but over a sustained period most are found wanting and are exposed as being not good enough resulting in our worst run of epl finishes for 25 years. I don't see it being much different this season if they are all 1st team regular starters this season like the last few.

Fair enough ken, that's your opinion and we are not too far apart in all honestly. All I will remind posters is that this league is the most unpredictable out of all the major leagues, by far. Makes it all the more exciting mind!

I agree with you hb. Any team of 4 or 5 could win the league. I don't see city as run away winners by any means. Spurs have the Wembley issue to contend with pool have klopp handicap and chelsea will habe europe too this season so I think if our key players stay fit we will win the league.
