Just a quick idea for a thread - what 1 (and I do mean one! ) thing did you take away from the Saturday games related to Man Utd? Forget about the Utd game, as you discuss that already, I mean the other games in the Prem.

For me, the thing I saw was that only Spurs, other than United, have the get out of jail free card of a genuine goalscorer to rely on when things get tough later in the season. When your team is having a stinker, a goalscorer can rescue the points. Kane is about the only other one around (Aguero when fit but he is out for a couple of months) apart from Lukaku. That gives United a real edge over the rest.

Good one Ed Uno. You the man 👍
For me I feel comfortable with our midfield and attack but still not fully comfortable with our defense. We can test the PL top teams with our attacking front but I am not fully convinced with other top Pl team testing our defense except for DDG. This will be seen in the months to come when we start playing those teams.
Major compliment I can give is that we are ensuring we win against the lower table teams.

{Ed001's Note - cheers mate. I don't think there is one PL side that impresses me defensively this season. Spurs have downgraded theirs with the addition of the extremely dodgy Sanchez, he looks like an accident waiting to happen every time I see him and was lucky not to give away a pen. Chelsea's back 3 leaves too many gaps in wide areas. Citeh were really struggling against Morata before he went off injured. Stones just cannot defend to save his life.}

I was saying that yesterday about city. Morata stays on, it's a different game. City were struggling with them. He goes off, then Chelsea just sat back, in my eyes allowing city to control the game. And for all their great possession, only de Bruynes intervention gave them the 3 points. Stones and otamendi will have their hands full with any of martial, rash, miki and lukaku.

Agree Ed. And thanks for the comments.
With that in mind I hope we rise up to the challenge and able to take them on. But the ball is round so I am cautious about being too optimistic. If we can maintain our teamwork and confidence I think we can be very comfortable beginning 2018. Let’s see.

The games on the rise in England, I watched the spurs, United and city games yesterday.
Some good teams this year with some very good individual players .
KDB and kanes performances yesterday where right up there .
As was city's team performance, if a Spanish club had done that to Chelsea everyone would be talking about how far we are behind the best in Europe.
Should be a great season this year.

Spurs look the most complete team and biggest threat to the title for me. If teams can get get at city defence they are vulnerable and can see them having off days when it comes to dominating possession, Chelsea rely heavily on Hazard and Morata and I think they will get found out more now since city display and with Europe.

{Ed025's Note - city are the team to beat welsh, any team that finishes above them wins the league for me, spurs are very good but the wembley factor will see them fall short mate..

I thought Chelsea were scared stiff of city, leave wide men high and Chelsea's wingbacks never got out there own half . Three CBS marking one striker meant a GK a back 5 plus kante and bakayoko meant 8 players barely crossed the half way line . Pep gets stick for no plan b but it was Conte who looked like he had no clue what to do .
Utd are doing fantastic we have cutting edge now that's been missing for a few year, fixtures have been kind though but we can only dispatch what's put infront of us and we have done it well.

Team spirit for me .
We seem to have a great togetherness and belief .
Only city and spurs have that along with ourselves .
May seem like a stupid point but it does make a huge difference.

The way it looks to me at the minute is city are favourites for the league. they look good but there's a weakness at the back, United should be their nearest challengers but have we been tested yet, we also have a weak spot at the back but we have the best keeper in the world. We have a big strong team, I think we will bully out a few results. Then we have Chelsea and spurs for the top 4 imo. there's a toss of a coin between Liverpool and arsenal but I think Liverpool will take 5th.
A few people thought Everton would be a surprise but I said from the start I didn't think so.

Good question 001.
From a united point of view i take comfort and encouragement from how focussed our manager appears to be. He really does look like he has the bit between his teeth. He at this moment exudes confidence and that is getting through to the players.
I also think he is not crowing about our form just yet as we have only played bottom half teams and poor teams in europe so he is biding his time. I believe he is since the retirement of fergie the best in the business at mind games and he will get under the skin of poch conte pep and klopp if the results go our way and will drop the grenades to wind them up, turn the screw and rank up the pressure when required.
When focussed and in with a chance of winning he knows how to get over the line even if it means being ugly. A focused and determined jose will win if given the opportunity so for me he is the x factor if it gets to squeaky bum time.

Thanks for that leahy. The question was . what 1 (and I do mean one! ) thing did you take away from the Saturday games related to Man U?
I think the manager is 1 thing related to man united. You may not think so but that was my interpretation and on reflection you may think that is valid.
In your reply you mentioned several things not 1 thing related to united read the question again and reply giving 1 thing realted to united and then you will also have a valid answer too😂.

Could be right Ed, City look frightening at times I just think teams are showing them too much respect, their defence can be got at for me but atm they aren’t conceding and teams can’t get the ball off them so fair play to city.
Anyway I think the OP was related to united but not about united lol, so for me the one thing it will come down to is Aguero v Kane v RedRom, maybe that’s 3, but kinda 1, who stays fit and most prolific will win their team the league for me.

{Ed025's Note - very possibly welsh..

I thought City looks superb yesterday and Chelsea look lost without Morata. I think city is a difficult team to play against due to the fact that if you give away possession in the middle of the pitch they have so many weapons that can hurt you. We are at the same level for me when we have our best 11 out there.

The games between the top teams will come down to who has sets up tactically the best and who makes the least mistakes.

Hope we do not have international break hangover as usual when we get back. The south American qualifiers are very tight with the exception of Brazil who has walked it and expect those players to come back knackered or injured.

As much as I'm very happy with Lukaku, I thought Kane is blossoming into one of the best strikers in the game.

I never said you mentioned the United game. I said it isn't a question about managers.
