Watching City and Spurs makes me yearn for the good old days when we took he game to opponents. The pace and movement of both teams is a joy to see, the game played as it should be. I know we have different players now and have had a few lean years but I think we have the personnel to be adventurous.

Sadly, I don't think this is Jose's way so we will be stuck with a mish mash of approaches depending on who we are playing and what form they are in. We may win a cup no ther but I believe that Jose is being left behind by a new breed of Manager whilst he clings to his tried and trusted ways. They have brought great success but I think there is a shift occurring and Jose is so fixed in his ways that he will refuse to adapt.

This isn't a reaction to yesterday's performance, I was never a fan of appointing Jose and whilst he is here I will give him and the club my full support, but I fear we didn't not look forward enough and EW just went for the big name.

And i bet Jose wins the league before Pochettino does.

Agree Tony. I was fully in favour but a mixture of odd selections and tactics coupled with injuries and average transfer window this year has left us behind.
I was sat watching spurs demolish Liverpool and I too yearned for the times we had a manager who advocates attack.

Well i think Poch would win it before if he had Joses resources.

Shan, he may win it, I'm not convinced though. However, it will probably be turgid and painful. I'm sure some will not care how we win it as long as we do, I however care a lot.

People forget the great attacking football Jose's teams played when he was winning at Madrid and Chelsea. Give him the right tools and he will deliver. Yes he is a pragmatist but he has not won so much purely by playing defensive football. Goals win matches.

{Ed001's Note - or perhaps it only existed in your imagination? Jose has never played great or attacking football. He plays pragmatic, overpowering football. You can be defensive and score goals by forcing your opponent to take more and more risks, once you do score, they have to take more risks to try and get back into the game, leaving more gaps to exploit. The most attacking teams in the history of the game have tended not to score as many. Balance is key.}

SchMidfield, Spurs did not demolish Liverpool. Mignolet and Lovren did.

Ed 1 I think if my memory serves me correctly that the Chelsea teams with Robben Duff Zola Drogba Lampard played great attacking football scoring plenty of goals on the way. Ditto Jose's Madrid teams.

{Ed001's Note - if by great attacking football you mean long balls to the big man up front to nod down to pacy widemen to run onto, then yes your memory serves you correctly. I don't even remember Zola playing for Jose at Chelsea, but there you go. I was pretty sure he left at least a year before Mourinho took charge.}
