A fine player bale, carrying a lot of injuries, if we buy him, in today's madness what is a reasonable price, if Liverpool paid 75mil. For an average defender from a side that leaked more goals than themselves this season.
I wouldn't be going above the 75 mil.

Think of it this way, would bale win us more points in 20 league games than any of our current players would
Playing 38? Obviously bare in mind Cup games and Europe?

Yes mdl he would.

So when he's out injured for your champs league semi final and you lose horribly that's okay because you thrashed West ham 7-2 three weeks earlier? Good logic.

The point is you can't pick and choose when he is available. He is unreliably out injured. How is that doing for us with Jones, Baily, Smalling?

DB I agree he is a risk I feel the same about rose. Both are really excellent players at their best. But their injury record has got to be of huge concern.

I know the squad needs strengthening but jose and the club cannot afford any more big money buys that don't deliver. We have young players with great ootential. In particular Rashford Martial bailly plus lindelof shaw mctominay and tuanzabe even pogba lukaku and jessie are all 24. It's not a time to panic buy.
My opinion is that we need 5 senior proven high quality players in the 26 to 29 year old category to join ddg and matic and the likes of young valencia and mata to compliment and help bring out the potential of that core group of young players.
I don't think that the likes of blind rojo smalling darmian miki and fellaini possibly herrera have got it in them to compliment that young core group and move to the level that is being set for us by our competition.
Jose may even look to sell one or 2 of that core young group who knows.
Players that fit into the category that have been linked with us are the likes of rose bale ozil perisic dybala i like the thoughts of those sort of signings. But all most unlikely in jan.

I'm really hoping that the club can pull a couple of good signings that will help us and give us some much needed impoudous going into the 2nd half of the season.

IF Bale could come in and be fit for 40 games in the season, and protected for the rest (not out injured) he woukd be fantastic for us either on the right wing or behind Lukaku. But for the money we would no doubt pay he would be a huge risk.

Perfect situation to loan till the summer with option to buy. But why would Real or Bale do that?

There is a risk with Bale, but we take risks all the time and can we afford not to take risks? Players of his caliber will hardly be beating down the door to sign for us, so if there is any sniff of a chance we need to take it.

Besides I'd rather have a player not contributing from the physio table than taking up a shirt on the pitch and being anonymous - something that our mega money players seem to do far too often.

I say go for it Woody, get him if you can please.

Bale is a class act on his day 1 of the best in the world .
His injury record is a concern but I'm sure that will be reflected in his price.

I can still see RM asking for over 80 mil even with his gammy leg.

I wouldn't want him now but if he get him il be over the moon if he proves me wrong.

RvP was always considered the same and he won us the title more or less by himself. Sometimes the problems are down to management and training methods.

Bale would be fantastic for us players do recover from long injurys time and time again medical improvements over the last few decades has progressed and I have no doubt he would be the best player in the league but why would real sell he could fix them? and I doubt he would come to us he has rejected us twice but never say never.

How happy are city right now with Vincent Kompany? On his day a fantastic centreback, but you can bet Pep will have him shifted out quickly after latest set back.

Owen Hargreves same story for us.

If you can't rely on fitness what can you rely on?

He is undoubtedly a very gifted player, if you thought you could manage him to a certain number of games (1 per week) then a good risk. But if you are not expecting to make a change to injury record and we will get more of thee same then not worth it.

He has also passed up on us a couple of times and I'm not sure we are his favourite club. I would rather have someone who is all in and wants to play for us.

I don't care how much any player costs to be honest 1 million or 200 million if he comes here plays well and works hard and adheres to the managers plans then he is welcome.

agree DB on his day he is a fantastic player - so powerful and explosive that can turn a game on its head in a second. but his injury record is appalling and as we all know once you start getting muscle injuries then you very rarely get over them. Perhaps a change of training methods will do him the world of good. However, the prem is much more physical so for me its a gamble not worth taking. Griezmann would be my first choice but if the rumours of our interest in Dybala are true then I would be over the moon as he is a fantastic player.

I do care how much a player costs and I think buying Bale will be an absolute disaster. Has injured most of the time. So it'll make no sense to buy him.
Leahy, vvd is not an average defender and I wish we had him in our ranks.

Attack, No 1 in transfer money, not even in top ten best defenders.

But if he fill he weakness for Liverpool and they win trophies then he will be good value. That's why i think prove is totally irrelevant. If he costs 1 million and is a success great if he costs 75 and brings success than great too.

I think VVD on his own cannot fix liverpool’s Leaky defence but I think he is one of the best cbs in the league on form. They’ve signed a very good player for a very over inflated price but like ken said if they win trophies then it will be money well spent.
