Has anyone discussing the future permanent manager stopped to consider the unreasonably High bar some are suggesting be set for OGS, saying top 4 plus a trophy is a minimum requirement.

As I remember it, we were 11 points outside that top 4 group when OGS came in. That is far from starting with a level playing field.
My own personal opinion is even if we end up a point or two adrift of Champions league, Ole will have performed well enough to be seriously considered.

I don't think minimum expectations involve Ole winning a cup. I think people throw a cup run into the equation when looking at what Ole needs to do to get the job.

It's all about how the season plays out. If we keep winning a high percentage of games and we miss out on top 4, then he's done all he can. If we fail to get top 4 even though Arsenal and Chelsea drop points, then that's on Ole.

We have a squad that's good enough to have a go at the F. A cup, but it certainly isn't make or break for OGS.

I think like any prospective manager Ole should be judged on a body of work. Not just on winning these six games. Not just on whether he wins the FA cup and not just whether he has us into the top 4.
There are a number of intangibles. Culture. Relationships with the players. Public perception of Ole United. Style of play. Tactical noise. Ability to integrate youth into the first team, obviously this is a long term aspiration and may be difficult to demonstrate in the time he has without possibly sacrificing wins/ points.

We will have a much better picture of Ole as a manager and Ole as United manager by the end of the season. I am sure we all agree, on the evidence so far he is filling the role admirably. There’s a lot of hard work ahead and challenges for him to rise to. It will be an interesting few months.

CV, there are others who will be considered who have a CV showing proof they can build teams which challenge, teams that play winning football, integrate and develop youth and importantly over years as a period in the main leagues. Ole doesn’t have that and it means the club will only have what he does over the next few months to show he has what it takes. Permanent has different expectations to Temporary, not just as a football manager.

We would all love it to be genius and the start of something great but there are huge risks if we get it wrong. CV is what most are reviewed on for a job and Ole’s is not strong so perhaps he has more to show than usual.

Jose cv was unmatched and he was awful .
Peps cv was pretty average when he took over barce.

The bar should be high though for anyone.
