There’s been some great posts since last night, Shappy as usual setting the standard but DLIB who is relatively new also delivering once again. I think we’ve celebrated long and hard so I’d like to I know up a few disparate things.

What on Earth is Neymar on? He’s moved to Paris and I think he realises he’s made a dreadful mistake, his comments post match were pathetic.

Lovely to see Di Maria’s face at the end, silly celebration at OT and lovely that the team he was desperate to leave dumped him out.

I know there were a lot of good performances but how much potential does Dalot have? He changed the game against Southampton and he was great again last night, so far he seems a great purchase. And a lot of people doubted Lukaku but that’s 6 goals in a week and hearing him post match he’s really keen for us to play 2 up front. I think he realises that Rashford has the shirt but instead of sulking he has delivered and how, good man.

Sometimes in desperate circumstances people have to stand up and be counted. Fred had his best game so far last night and what about McTominay? Someone posted he was ‘just a squad player’ but last night he showed what he might become. And onto my fanboy crush, the man boy that is Marcus Rashford. Balls of steel, having to wait so long to take it, PSG players trying to distract him, I love how Fred stepped in, and then taking a beautiful penalty to seal the deal.

I think that’s 9 away wins in a row which is incredible, with half a first team missing. The future does indeed look bright.

One final point, if Pogba still wants to leave after the last 2 months then he needs a head wobble. If he stays I expect Ole to make him Captain and surely he sees the potential here? If not then we move on, if you’re not on the bus, sod off.

I’ll be surprised to see Pogba move on.

Good post.

Spot on ajh. Good post.
For me smalling was mom last night. Closely followed by any of the others.
Ole has our best players playing well and our lesser players playing above themselves. Fergie was great at that too. Very few of fergies 'lesser players' the oshea fabio etc etc excelled elsewhere even at intl level. But he could get them to be brilliant. Its a great trait for ole to have inherited.

Good post pal, surely Pogba has to stay. We need him to stay. I'm really excited to see Rashford, Martial, Lingard, Lindelof, Shaw and Dalot mature and grow together. Led by Pogba and with a few quality additions the potential over the next few years is very encouraging. I think we could be on the brink of seeing our next special team.

I've never thought finishing 4th is anything to celebrate but from the position we found ourselves in when Ole took over I think it would be a fantastic achievement now!

In my opinion this young team needs Champions League football so they can continue to learn and develop. Experiences such as last night are vital for building character and belief. They need to play and be tested against the best teams on the biggest occasions. Another year in the Europa would feel like a kick in the teeth after the excitement of last night.

We've got an epic few months to look forward to.

Smalling is infuriating, there’s a quality defender in there trying to get out. He pulls shirts and makes big mistakes but when he’s on it he looks quality. He needs to concentrate and put a proper run together, he knows how to defend, he just needs to cut out the silly stuff.

He is just not comfortable on the ball and the shirt pulling is an issue but he does do a steady allbeit not a spectacular job.
I still think we are short at the back.

Its a managers job to get the best out of his players, ole is doing that .
Smalling is a far better player than people give him credit for .
Potential of the squad is fantastic, we just need to get the best out of them.

Potential is there we only need to add a few and get rid of a few hangers on that make no contribution and we will be right up there challenging next season on all fronts.

Smalling next year with var will have to alter his game and stop grabbing players. It may be the making of him into a really top player but I bet he concedes a penalty or two before his old habit dies hard. With regard to Dalot and Scott we perhaps have to thank Jose because let's be honest most if us knew very little about them and he brought them to the first team. One other thing McKenna is a very talented young coach and his experience and knowledge of the under 23s and younger squads allied to his own coaching skill suggests he is helping Ole a lot and is a manger in waiting.

We just need to keep on doing what we are doing.
Not long ago people wanted shaw gone, look at him now same for martial only a couple of week ago people were saying lukaku had to go .
Rashford didn't have the potential of other players his age?
The list goes on but the truth is we have a very good squad . We wil buy players but so will every other team
The squad is showing what they are capable of, they have answered question after question.

Its a managers job to get the best out of his players, ole is doing that.

Agree with everything you put here! Dalot especially is starting to show some real class and at 19 can only get better.

I seriously hope we sign a new RB in the summer and keep Dalot pushes higher up in that RW role. He can beat players easily and has some defensive frailties that could be excused with a good RB behind him!

Sure only 2 months ago you posted jose didn't make 1 good signing for the club so people will change their mind i'm assuming you have as now you rave about lindelof lukaku and dalot whom you dismissed earlier in the season as a new signing as you had a different agenda then.
Matic was finished according to you.
So things to change as form changes. Its quite natural really denis.
If you look at a painting and don't like it then you won't like it in 6 months. But a football player people don't like can regain popularity by changing and improving. Its a movable feast.
