We have been talking a lot about players from the academy and often comparing them with Class of 92, What mostly sets this lot apart from our older players
is the Background of the Club now and then. When Class of 92 graduated we were a good club but not the greatest, these kids were extremely motivated to beat
(then Liverpool) and get back to the top, whereas the current set of kids already have things at their feet,
they are already playing for the most successful club in England, its like Why bother.

It is about hunger, tasting failure, having seen the darker side of life, struggling with finances etc., Don't think any of the current Kids understand this.
We have game on weekend and players are busy launching their new Clothesline.
Take an example of Robertson, we all know how difficult it was for him before Hull, he turned it around. Do you honestly think that Rashford and Co. can turn it
around? or we just need to look beyond them and go for lesser known players who are hungry for success? Hope i am able to put my thoughts into words properly.

ED's thoughts?

{Ed004's Note - I think its a bit harsh to write then off this early. Another way to look at it is some players arent ready until later in their careers (look at Robertson). I dont think Rashford has a brand and every pro that speaks of him does so in a positive light. Even when Jose was here there was never any murmurs of him having an attitude. In fact most coaches have said he works hard on the training ground and is scoring all the time. It can just be difficult to replicate that in a dysfunctional attack in the premiership}

Becks.
Robertson is a fine example of a very good player making the very most of his natural ability and working every minute of every day to maximise his value to the team. Gary Neville jamie carragher Nicky butt these are all guys that were not the most naturally gifted ball players but they were gifted with and honed great attitudes and work ethic.
But its also they were all part of really good teams. Playing their roles brilliantly. That's what makes a great team. Each player playing their role to the maximum and it all gelling together.
Rashford could well excel in other teams right now . But he has no chance in ours right now.
Pogba could excel wherever he goes ddg lukaku sanchez martial are all talented enough to excel elswhere given the right circumstances.
Who is to say that with 2 better full backs and a more creative midfield that martial and sanchez won't do great next season.
Its a huge conundrum but decisions need to be made. Our blend is all wrong it doesn't gel.
So much depends on who is staying.

I’d go for Rice and Diop at West Ham and Odoi at Chelsea. May even go for Milner and make him captain. We are rudderless.

A lot of the players in our squad have seen the darker side of life and struggled with finances.

I know they are not academy players but they have been banded as selfish, lazy shirkers. Have you ever read the backgrounds of the likes of sanchez, pogba or matic. All three if i recall correctly came from the toughest of situations growing up that most on this forum would never come close to.

If as much attention was put on core technical attributes of our players like first touch, close control, accurate passing, accurate finishing, off ball movement and coordinated pressing as there is on the passion, hunger, clothing lines and haircuts it would be easier to solve our problems.

Milner? An ex Leeds, city an current Liverpool player? That's the unholy trinity.

No I get the point. Good solid pro, could do worse.
