I may be in the minority but I hope City win today. Nobody has won the domestic treble, we came closest in ‘94, we did the double but lost to Villa in the final of the League Cup, a pretty dreadful game. Records are there to be broken and this season has been phenomenal for a host of reasons. It would be an incredible achievement to clean sweep the domestic trophies and they have to be favourites.

On a separate subject, have people been watching the play offs? Incredible games but my God, how much diving and feigning injury has there been? It was embarrassing and seemed to be pretty much every team. I know it goes on but it was beyond pathetic. The incredible games though, Villa West Brom, Leeds Derby in particular were fantastic spectacles.

Watching the lower leagues almost reminds me of top flight football from 15- 20 years ago. There seems to be more of a freedom to the way they play and certainly less coaching. Don’t get me wrong watching City is great at times but for much of it I’m bored. This may be an argument for another day but I feel the real entertainment in footballs top divisions is ebbing away with players being overcoached. That’s why I’m enjoying the play offs so much.

Completely agree Hopper, the money in the EPL means it’s all about the top 4 for some, survival for others. I was struck by how much every team was trying to play football in the play offs across all divisions. GKs all looking to pay it short and not simply boot it up the field, Much more technically savvy than it used to be. Really looking forward to the finals.

How could any true red want city to win. Who cares if the players have to come in early for pre season, it’s the least they deserve for their pathetic abject performances, pity you can’t sack em. Any normal job if you performed like that on a weekly basis you’d be down the road sharpish. Their heads are so far up their own backsides. They probably think they deserve a payrise.

No I can’t hope City win, tbh coming back early might help us out fitness wise. Btw, I’ve never known a cup final day with so little mention of it all across the media, didn’t even remember it was on.

I don't want City to win, but due to the circumstances I won't be upset if they do.

Because we finished 6th if Watford win the FA cup they go into the Europa League at the group stages and we get pushed back to the second qualifying round which starts in mid July, rather than starting our Europa League campaign in mid September.

Watford winning the FA cup will ruin our pre-season plans. We will either have to fly back from Shanghai to Europe to play the qualifier then fly back out to China to complete our pre-season commitments a couple of days later to then fly back to Europe again after that. Meaning two extra 10+ hour flights in one week. Or we will have to split the squad leaving half back in Europe to play the qualifier and the other half go on the pre-season tour.

Neither are good preparation for what is going to be a tough season next year.

So if City win, they they do us a massive favour. So I won't be gutted if they do.

We shouldn't need favours from another team and should accept whatever fate gives us.

No surprise there Stevie, I just don’t have the animosity for a city that I do for Liverpool, Leeds, or Chelsea. Must be my age.
