So Daniel James is in, looks like Aaron wan Bissaka is nearly there so onto the next.
Bruno Fernandes
Sean Longstaff
These seem the 2 most mentioned, maybe both but hoping we can get Fernandes in regardless.
A centre back signing seems quiet though, Harry Maguire is all I've heard about as it stands.

What scares me is I keep asking myself, 'this time last season Who were these guys? '

Maybe they are special, but has OGS or Woody shown a special skill in this type of player? Surely what we need right now is experienced, proven quality, so that are talented youngsters can kick on. We lack leaders throughout the team, so adding more inexperienced youth is something i'd be doing further down the line.

Let's see what happens, but the hundreds of millions being spent here is high risk.

Hello beast, how are you?
I agree to an extent but we've tried that route and it's got us nowhere, I'm quite happy to see younger players come in and I think AWB will be a steal eventually but you are right if we lose pogba and ddg then we have matic really as our experience and with longstaff, Fernandes and Maguire linked that's exciting but young.

Well Beast, "experienced, proven quality" - why would they join us?
No champions league as well.
The only reason would be money.
Right now, we seem to go after young, hungry players to lay a solid foundation.
That's the right way to go.

I was a bit confused when I heard we were after this longstaff, so I was talking to a geordie fan this morning, he said he is a very good player with bags of potential, has a great heart and passion for the game, not afraid of a tackle either, great passer, great long passer, could set James off in a few runs,
He said he is a lot better than rice, good first touch,
He said newcastle will be sad to se him leave, but with what's going on there he deserves better.
Michael Carrick rates him highly.
So bring him on,

Beast, not sure why that is relevant. These players are 20 years old.

We’ve all complained about the signings over the past 6 years.

Now we’re seeing a pattern in the players that we are targeting, surely that’s a step in the right direction?

Beast hope your well mate. I agree entirely.
Its all about the right blend of youth and experience.
I can understand if that's a part of the reason to keep mata and young around the squad but i don't see them playing too often.
Ddg i feel will stay.
But shaw awb and lindelof are all pretty inexperienced and not big talkers i feel we need a good experienced cb to get the best out of those guys.
Its the midfield area that concerns me.
Currently on our books we have
Matic. definitely past his best.
Fred. Not sure what to say really.
Mctom good squad member.
Pogba. I think he will leave.
So pogba aside we have 3 specialist midfielders in the squad in its entirety. That at this moment is the worst midfield selection that any manchester united squad has had since the war. Its questionable that any of them would be 1st choice in any top 10 club in the epl and its all we have. Unbelievable really.
A minimum of 2 midfielders are required if pogba leaves. Imo we need 2 even if he stays.
Longstaff no experience looks a really good prospect.
Teilmans a little experience seems a mature enough sort of guy.
Raibot young but decent experience no epl
Fernandes no epl experience.
Some we are linked with.
Ive no idea who will be the leader the glue if you like that pulls them all together. Like keane cantona robson dare i say henderson kompany terry a leader who gets the best from everyone on the pitch. The guy who won't let standards slip. The guy that inspires you with a stare.
Going with such a young inexperienced team means someone has to stand up and become the leader. Who will that be? Someone has to emerge from the pack.
Or will we bring someone in?
Id like us to sign raibot teilmans and fernandes to add to mctom matic fred we could sign the 3 of them for what we get for pogba.
No big superstar names regardless of the price. But good pedigree. Players that have had the taste of winning tielmans had it at anderlect raibot psg and fernandes on the back of a sporting cup win.
If you are a young player like these guys with talent and have a bit about you this would be a great time to join united. Opportunities are there for them to lead a revival of the biggest club in Britain. We need players with balls. Players who want to be the best. Players who want to entertain and to become hero's.
Sign a good cb those the midfielders and then last min . com buy sancho we are in a good position to start claiming up the table. Assuming we can get lukaku rojo darmian off the books we would not have had a bad net spend 150m ish
Only a lb cb cf away from a full squad overhall that perhaps see a couple emerge from the academy.
Don't let any of the doom mongers tell you the future is not bright.

I agree in part beast we are in desperate need of leaders we have 0

And this is where the problem lies

No one is there to kick players in the rear no one organising or pulling the team together.

But I ask you beast who is there that can do that?

Lots of those stories leahy.
Ive not heard or read a bad word about the lad at all.
I think jred said he caught his eye at a Newcastle game last season and a geordie posted on the site recently saying the ssme
I don't get the clamour for rice. I've been watching him for a few years and i genuinely believe he will return to cb where he is best. He is very limited on the ball lacks the technique vision and passing range to play inn midfield long term imo.
