One thing very clear from the game today, Matic and Fred are not at the level required, they gave away numerous free kicks today and the tempo in the second half was way slower. If Pogba is leaving we need both SMS and Fernandez for midfield with McTomaney and Pereira. Thought they shows good strength and desire in the middle today and didn't let Spurs intimidate them. Martial was much better through the middle and would definitely give him a chance in there, he can shoot with both feet and showed good movement and work rate today.

Fred joined late for the pre-season.
It may take some more time for him to reach the required fitness level.

I can't speak for SMS or Fernandes as I haven't watched them in full matches, however I agree about Matic. I still think Fred should be given time as he played pretty well in the champions league last season and has a lot of energy. He is also good at switching play quickly when we're in possession. Pereira has some great interplay, good at set pieces and always plays with passion which is great to see. It's great how so many of our youth players are looking like exciting prospects.

Missed most of the game today how did Dan James get on, he's got a style to his game that excites me, I belive he will become a special player.

SMS was awful last season and found himself in and out the team . He had a good season the previous year but imo he is a good not a great player .

He has only just joined the tour and will not be as fit/ sharp as the other players, Added to that if you listed to Dalot”s interview after the game he mentioned how hard it was due to the temp and humidity.

Fred will have a lot better seasons this year.

Jred, SMS did have a poorer year last season than he had the season before. Yet he still won Serie A midfielder of the year.

If he does that during a poor year, imagine how good he could be during a good year.

Sms is a lovely footballer. Tecnically gifted with 2 feet and great vision. Very simialar to pogba in many ways actually.
