Hi Ed002,
Is there a possibility that Tottenham could beat United to the signing of Bruno Fernandes?
If not, do you think it is likely that he will sign for us? Appreciate that you may not want to answer the second question.

I wouldn’t put much stock in twitter rumours. But if Fernandes moves elsewhere it will be a massive failure on the part of the club.

There’s a couple of usual suspects who jump in whenever there is any criticism of the club, but it doesn’t take a genius to recognise that our transfer dealings have been rank amateur this summer.

I think the fans would have every right to be annoyed as it’s well known that we have chased the player for god knows how long. Going by what Ed002 has said, we are yet to tie up a deal as we have not come up with an acceptable offer. That’s the clubs fault.

Lads i think you all need to relax a bit.
I know its not ideal but there will be players coming and going.
Im betting maguire (left out of Leicester squad tonight) and fernandes (who wull play for sporting v benfica in super cup on sunday) will both sign.
Im not so sure dybala will sign i think there is a distinct preference for a straight cash deal for lukaku if either inter or juve come up with it.
If dybala were to sign it is a signing that excites me. I really wouldn't know what to expect.
Fernandes has been hot now for 18 months. Very versatile and although its not a great league he has been tearing it up there consistently for a sustained period.
Im told he has agreed all terms and that's been the case for some time SL want to maximise his value.
Maguire will sign Leicester will sell but they are screwing is for the max why shouldn't they?
I would imagine that if sanchez darmian and rojo don't get a sniff of a game early on they may try to get out before the euro window shuts on the 31st.

I don't believe in criticising our club and players.
It's the owners who are problem.
Hope the we sign players we need by deadline.
But if not it's our right to criticise the owners do something to change the situation.

Why can't we sign players early.
It happened with jose and it's happening again.
I understand we are building a team and based on young and British talent.
But waiting for deadline day and make knee jerk signings our club is not managed properly.
And we should take necessary actions owners and don't wait year by year in hoping everything will be sorted.

Wish I could share your optimism Ken but the fact remains that no deals have been done for over a month and we have a week left of the window.
We know for a fact that Maguire and Fernandes are targets and I just cannot understand why it is taking us until the last week of the window to improve our squad further.
I honestly think we will overpay massively for Maguire, miss out on Bruno Fernandes, who should be a priority before any thought of Dybala and most likely sign Dybala after offering ridiculous wages.
That to me seems something like we would pull off.
I really hope I’m wrong but as it stands, the only player to improve our first 11 is Wan Bissaka.

Ken its a shambles plain and simple were waiting till a week to get deals done now if these deals fall through which it is looking very likely all 4 deals if you include lukaku are 50/ 50
at best to happen now for the last week it will be back to scatter gun approach just to get anybody in to appease the fans
I've paid a lot of money over the years to travel down from Scotland to watch us play as no doubt a lot of the people on this site have but I've had enough of this board letting us down year after year.

I’m not dramatic or flouncing like some but it does seem to take us forever to sign a player. Ed suggested we seem go ignore what we have been told and haggle endlessly. It smells amateurish to me.

I understand all the frustration, obviously I want the best players playing for us, but I also understand that transfers take time and, as Ed 002 has pointed out myriad times, we are a shambles and very amateurish.

Now I also understand all the complaining. If you have a season ticket and you buy a programme, a shirt or 2 etc etc, factoring in expenses, it really is an expensive form of entertainment, but that is all it is, entertainment, if you are not being entertained or you are not enjoying it or it stresses you out, don't go, pay or watch, find so. e other form of entertainment.

However, in complete contradiction, if we are paying massive prices then we should be challenging, if we are no longer a top 4 team, and we are not, perhaps we shouldn't be charged as much, the fact is, as a business and it is a business, it exists solely to make money and it knows the ground will be sold out and shirts will be sold.

I shall still be attending games, I would if we were relegated, it is not just about the football, but the camaraderie and the tribalism too.

If we don't sign anyone, we don't sign anyone, what can we do as supporters. not much, so no point I getting angry or stressed, if it's too much, take a break and watch the rugby. or the NFL.

Those examples you gave are not the same as supporting a football club.

If football is your first love, you have serious problems and I think your family and friends would be pretty offended.

It's a game, end of.

If you aren't happy, don't go.

Support another team, or go watch the cricket.
