Interesting fact.
In 27 PL seasons, our top goal scorer has only hit more than 20 goals in 10 of those seasons.

I won't be surprised if no one scores 20 this year too. Having said that, I think both Rashford and Martial will score over 15 goals each.
Pogba too. if he starts scoring those pens :)

That’s pretty crazy tbh. Suggests we don’t really focus on one man to get all the goals but look for contributions across the front 3 and goals from midfield. Need rash and martial to hit 20+ though because apart from pogba, there isn’t much goal threat from midfield.

Not that surprised, I doubt there are many sides who have had one player score more than 20 goals in more than 10 seasons.

Alan Shearer only scored more than 20 on a few occasions and he is the leagues all time leading goalscorer.

Scoring more than 20 goals didn't really become a likely target until the late 00's. Have a look at how many times anyone scored more than 20 goals in a season from 91-2010. I would imagine you would struggle to find that happening 10 times during that period.

It just seems like the minimum target now. The real question is have strikers become more clinical or has defending become less fashionable?
