2 games in and 2 different options used at the right wing position, daniel james and andreas pereira.

Still have lingard, martial, rashford, mata, young, dalot, sanchez, greenwood, chong and gomes left to try in that position.

Would people go for over or under 10 different options used at right wing this season?

Will that be so terrible? I imagine most years 10 players start at right wing for a team like Man Utd - hopefully there will be many fixtures.

Lingard started there against Chelsea.

Wouldn’t be against Dalot playing there tbh.

Dalot is the fastest player at the club and can deliver quality crosses.
It is worth the try imo.
But I would prefer Greenwood to be given the RW role for now.

I see it as our biggest problem position. I did even before we signed Maguire.

I hope someone like James, Greenwood or Chong makes it theirs this season.

If you know what type of forwards you have (and are going to play regularly) its easier to shop for a midfielder.

eg. if we signed vardy (hypothetical) we would want a midfielder who can reliably play the ball early into channels, and would maybe operate a bit deeper. If we sign llorente then we want our CMs to feed the ball wide so we can get balls in the box, or a very advanced CAM who can interchange with a bigger less mobile striker.

I think this is why Lukaku struggled (and I know his overall goal record was ok, but he was expected to be outscoring most other strikers) .
His success at West Brom and Everton was often due to his pace and power, finding space in channels. At united where teams sat back he had to operate as a target more often and I don't think it suited him. Probably contributed to him adding so much bulk too. I think this is why Ole tried to reintroduce him playing RW last season, to see if he could find more space.
