Fair play to smalling for taking a leap. To many players in our squad are happy picking up wages and not playing. He obviously was told his game time would be limited so took a great loan move. I admire him for that.

Good luck to ‘Mike’ not the best player in the world, but not the worst either.
All the best Chris.

At least that's a few penalties we won't concede by VAR seeing all his arm wrestling.

He was an average performer who played as best he could for us.
Hopefully he can get a lot of minutes.

He was above average. He had some good spells and some not so good. Good luck to him. Maybe playing in Italy will improve him. Certainly puts him in the window for next summer.

Smalling was the most consistent amongst Rojo, Bailly and Jones.

He was 23 when Fergie left, 6 years later he’s now on his 5th manager at United and is our current longest serving player.

I think he did well at times but his lack of ability with the ball has let him down. I can’t help but think he wasn’t developed as he should have been. There’s no doubting his pace and strength, he’s another case of unfulfilled potential.

Perhaps he should have left a couple of years ago but I still remember some excellent performances from him, particularly against City when he got booked early on for a foul on Aguero, when we turned a 2-0 loss into a 3-2 win.

Suppose it doesn’t help either when one of your managers doesn’t remember your first name. Good luck Mike.

That's the problem with constantly changing managers. Players aren't developed and then don't hit their full potential.

Mort - this is exactly why we need the manager to be backed now.

Young players coming through need to understand this is the manager to guide them and they need to work hard for him and get behind his methods.

People calling for Ole to be sacked. He may well be by the end of this season, and then who's to say we're not sacking another manager at the end of next season, and so on.

That's my point. If the new approach is to develop our young players then we need to stick with it. Certainly the style if not the manager. Rather than constantly chopping and changing. I think ole should be backed. But if he goes we need a manager who plays the same style. And not a regression to some antique style.
