Hi all,
Thanks to the Eds as always.
Jese Lingard seems to be the latest 'target' for fans who are looking for other ways of voicing their frustrations at the club's current situation. What is it with these people? Are you one of them? If so, please speak up, I really want to know what this guys is doing wrong on the pitch. For me, he is our best off the ball asset, often organising and leading a press on the oppositions possession and mistakes. He doesn't score many goals, but is it then fair to say he does nothing?
Simply looking to raise some discussion here, personally I'm a huge Lingard fan, what about you?

Good morning KG. I think you may have owned pandoras box😂.
Ive nothing against lingard and think he is a decent squad player.
He has a few good attributes as you point out above. I don't think he is an expert or outstanding in any position but he can do a decent job in several positions.
I think he is good back up in 2 or 3 positions which should guarantee good gametime but he would not be my 1st choice in any position to be honest not withstanding his commitment.
He seems a nice lad if a bit immature in some ways i understand why he is popular and i also understand why he frustrates some supporters too.

He’s the starting attacking mid for a club that purportedly wants to challenge for titles.

He struggles to create chances and score goals.

The job he does off the ball could just as easily be done by a well trained jack russell.

If he was not wearing our colours i'd be convinced he is the ref. He always seems to be close to the action but never contributes to the game. The "panther sign" he calls his celebration? I prefer to think of his pointed indexes! More so as the gap between his goal and his last assist. He needs to hold them close to his face due to his lack of vision.

Thanks for the responses so far.
Just under 18 months ago I described him as my favourite current United player. His background, graft, journey to the first team is an inspiration for all the youngsters coming through at the club. With the exception of some immature, poorly judged social media post (s) (which he is far from alone in making) he represents where
dedication and hard work can get you. He’s playing below his par at present time but I expect him to improve as the season goes on.

I like Jesse. He had a good first half against Wolves but the 2nd half was the polar opposite. I’m not saying he should be a starter and we do need someone like Bruno Fernandes in his position, but he’s a good player to have in the squad and he has a habit of scoring at Wembley.

KG, I think lingard is the most overrated player in the league. He runs around like a headless chicken. Creates nothing. His assist record is one of the worst in the league. He hasn't scored in 15 games. What is it about him you find good? I think Gomes will be ten times better, and should be given the chance. Lingard will not improve City, liverpool, arsenal, Chelsea or spurs. i'm not sure he'll improve Leicester even, which says it all.
