Is it oles fault?
Our 3 new signings look to be our 3 best players so far this season.

I am calling on real madrid to make a reasonable offer for pogba tonight and for the club to accept. Anything above what we paid for him would be a good deal imo.

Then go all in with the kids from now until xmas and see where it takes us.
Bring tuanzebe gomes garner and greenwood into the team.
Ive not been impressed withh lindelof pogba in any of the last 3 games. Periera was a complete passenger today and most times we have seen him.
Mata i'm afraid is not a starter anymore a bizarre decision to give him 2 more years.

Go all in with the kids they can't do a lot worse.

Lindelof was better than maguire today. Don't think maguire has been that good since he's joined.
Ole is completely to blame. At least it's another point towards the 40 point make for safety. Anyone who thinks we are heading the the right direction are deluded. A weaker squad a weaker team will be lucky to finish top 8.

I don’t think it’s Ole’s fault. I think Ole is a symptom of larger problems.

AWB and James look excellent buys.

Maguire is a good player, but will always be judged negatively against his price tag.

The bigger issue is the holes in our squad in terms of midfield and attack. While I think it’s probably best to give the younger players a chance, they will be expected to deliver, or we won’t get top four. Truth is we stuffed up during the summer, and we don’t have a significantly better squad than last season.

The second issue is that our defensive organisation is terrible. The goal today is down to a lack of leadership at the back, and a failure to reorganise after the initial cross. Maguire is expected to provide this, but I’m unconvinced that this is his forte.

Relegation form and people need to wake up to the direction we are going in. Something needs to change fast or it could get very messy indeed.

Completely agree rad man. We all want ole to succeed but the results don't lie.

Its a shocking trend redman. I wonder how many points the Scouse or city have over that period in fact i'd say there can't be more than 1 or 2 clubs in the whole division that have a worse record.
Redman if we had a great manager where do you think the squad would come?
Leave ole aside for that 1 question.

You say Defensive organisation is terrible, is that not something that should have been resolved on the trading pitch? I said the other day, anyone who has played the game went on the pitch knowing who did what. They should be drilled and the penalty debacle may indicate a wider lack of organisation from the training pitch which manifests itself as the defensive organisation issue you highlighted.

Ken 130mn spent on defense and 1 cleansheet in 4. All a team needs to do is be organized at the back and its basically back to LvG football.

I would like someone to explain to me what exactly is ole doing on set pieces? When attacking we are clueless, when defending them it's worse.

Against Wolves their 2 tallest players were being marked by pogba and shaw. Today corner we conceded from, it was young was marking vestergaard, how does anyone have a 5ft7 guy mark a 6ft5 is just beyond me.

Ken a good manager wouldn't have let likes of herrera, lukaku and Sanchez leave without replacing them. The squad is as thin as it is because ole allowed it.

With a top manager and a little luck with injuries, we could get top 4. But that's with the assumption that a top tier manager can find the true individual and group strengths and find a way to play that magnifies them. But you can't have average players and an average manager and expect more than average.

You asked if we had a GREAT manager where would we come. I think great managers would organise far better, in game manage better, have more belief from the players. SAF generated belief, players believed absolutely, I think that is lacking now. I think a great manager would have us in the top four, even with the paucity of players. I suspect the players will have doubts about the managers abilities and with it being international break it wouldn’t surprise me if snippets come out.

Red Man, I used to ask you what the players were learning on the training pitch the last two seasons, and you never answered me.

Ken, what really matters is points tally against other teams since OGS has taken over 😉.

Didn’t have to, one season we won two cups, the next we finished second. Last season the players learned they were more valued than the manager, didn’t need to learn anything on the training pitch, demonstrated it aptly and the club let them do it. Then we appointed the sentimental choice permanently and it has been downhill since. Did I read it is one of the worst runs in our history.

My goodness redman, I wasnt the biggest fan of hiring ole and you may well have a point that he won't prove a wise decision, but have you a jose tattoo or something, we were awful to watch and in mid table chasing Bournemouth and Watford and this wasnt a couple of games in where the table changes drastically on one result it was mid season .
I'm guessing if we find ourselves in the position jose had us at the same point in the season you will judge ole totally different .
Theres not a better type of mid table depending on a cv .
We lack an attacking midfielder and a right sided attacker pretty much as we did under jose.

No Jose tattoo, but a proven world class manager asked for players after finishing 2nd, it was denied to him. I believe one was Maguire who would have cost less then, yet someone denied it and it cost the club millions. Is that person or persons who cost the club millions still there?

If we go on a long winning run, end up 3rd or 4th, get close or win a cup it would put Ole in a better light, just can’t see it. I am not and was not a Jose fan, I wanted the club to have a plan like City did, bring LvG in was something to create a structure for Pep to come in, that was what I hoped for when they appointed LvG. Once Pep went to City (I was angry and said so on here that had been allowed to happen) the club had to go for Jose and 100% support him, they didn’t.

We may finish mid table this season and it is where we finish that matters.
