Rumour:
Manchester United have reportedly identified Edwin van der Sar as their leading candidate to become the club’s first director of football.
Any thoughts from ed’s re confirmation?
I know we all consider the appointment of a DOF is vital but what are the thoughts re Edwin van der Saar being a good option.

{Ed002's Note - He has been looked at before. I don't see that he would turn his back on Ajax and there is a family issue that might also need consideration.}

Ed002 If i remember you mentioned earlier once appointing him will be another mistake from United. Would like to hear your thoughts if you still think he is not the right candidate for DOF role?
