The words of our manager
"They've got good players, a proven top manager and Brendan's teams always play with football and we've got to play well to get the three points. "

We have got to play well. This is Leicester at Old Trafford, not City away, that is a negative thought process. A proven top manager he says Rodgers is, so Ole recognises that is important. Pity his bosses didn't.

"I think Harry [Maguire] has been brilliant. He's come into the dressing room as a leader"

Any thoughts on that Shappy as you were adamant he wasn't one?

It's just the same thing over and over again.

Tbf oles comments are just the usual spiel you get in press conferences when a question about the opposition is posed.

Nothing to castigate him for redman.

I think we’re in for a hard time. Martial, Shaw and Pogba unavailable injured.

Scooby

It will be interesting, will OGS go with Gomes, Greenwood or Young, Matic and Mata? I would bet he goes with experience and that may condemn him further. I would rather see the Greenwood, Gomes, Garners given a game, the crowd would get behind them. Interesting choices tomorrow but injuries are no excuse as we had a transfer window to deal with the squad.

More gems “Man Utd is the biggest and best club in the world. I’m sure they (Leicester) want to get into the top 4 like we do”

That’s our aim now, top 4 above Leicester.

How the mighty have fallen. It may be the usual spiel but if this is the thought process then people need to wake up to it.

Red Man,

Are you hoping he sends the players out telling them not to play well? Totally confused what he has said that is wrong here. Usual press conference, nothing to see.

13 Sep 2019 13:44:31
Regardless of how we Feel about our club and how we have got to this position is OGS not just being honest. There's confidence/ bravado etc but at the minute we are in the world of reality which is a team in transition.

Red Man it will be interesting. I see more pain to come with or without injuries to be honest.

GDS

Sending them out to play well is a given, let’s hope he has some tactical ideas plus ensures the players know what is expected of every single one of them, before they cross the white line would be good.

Saying our aim is top 4 in competition with Leicester, recognising the importance of Rodgers being a proven top manager (which Solskjaer isn’t) and you don’t see any issue. Yes it’s a press conference, yes it’s standard dross yet he still shows he doesn’t understand the level of job he is in.

12.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 14:49:57
Red Man I’m sure he’s aware of the level of the job.

Will the supporters only get behind the team if we play the youngsters? Strange supporters.

Nou

If you have been to OT support always gets behind our team more when we are the underdog or our young players are getting a chance. It isn’t an “only” as you put it but the crowd usually realise when we are up against it and take the support up a notch.

13 Sep 2019 15:51:37
the guy can't even win in the press conferences with some of you lot. and this is one of the reasons we are where we are,

what did you expect him to say redman? that we are going to challenge for the title and that rodgers is a piss poor manager?

think you need to wake up redman we are miles behind the top teams, top 4 for us with this squad would be a great season for us.

we all said we are an injury away from the likes of pogba and martial away from disaster.

make no mistakes Leicester are a good side and have played some good football in the 4 games so far and if we are being realistic they have a better midfield than us and we are now without our best cm.

Redman, I'm beginning to think you don't really rate OGS. 😂.

13 Sep 2019 17:43:01
There is a decent article in The Guardian, Solksjaer and the credibility conundrum. Adds some perspective on his abilities and the general situation.
I really hope Greenwood and Gomes get a start tomorrow. Would really generate some positivity around the ground. Hungry players who want to make their mark.

21.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 17:57:00
Tomorrow Leicester s starting 11 is superior to our starting 11 and Ole can do little about that.
Years of mismanagement and injuries led to that.
Pretending that being Manchester United we have some God given right to win the game won't solve anything. We learned that quick fixes don't work and we know that probably things will get worse before they ll get better.
Either we accept that or else we start going again for short term fixes again with the same results.

Dev1l,
Tomorrow in a mixed 11 i would have 7 Leicester players in.
With only ddg, maguire james and maybe 1 of rash or lindelof.
Without Pogba ole has matic mata pierera mctom fred maybe jessie to choose from in midfield unless he wants to throw garner or gomes in at the deepest of deep ends.
Up front he has the choice of rash greenwood james chong mata or jessie to fill the 3 positions.
Ole has to try and find a winning combination. Leicester have some fine players themselves and will come confident that they can win.
Im looking forward to the game.

23.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 19:10:28
Ken, I m looking forward to the game too but not very optimistic. If Matic plays, as he ll probably do, I think our midfield will be outrun. He s so slow nowadays. The alternatives are Fred but there seems to he issues with him behind the scenes or maybe Perriera or Garner - who s still too raw Imo
.

24.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 19:31:15
I mean Ole knew that the squad was lacking in several areas at the start of the summer, and could have addressed them during the transfer window. But he claimed we had a great transfer window, and that we had a squad capable of challenging.

Forget all the press conference nonsense, but you can say Ole can do nothing about our squad deficiencies if you conveniently ignore the fact that he could have done something but didn’t.

25.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 21:33:48
Danny. I get that argument to an extent. He didn't get the players he wanted or needed everybody can see that. I don't think that's down to him.

26.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 21:34:25
Matic will play tomorrow, I will be very surprised if he doesnt. I think he would of played even if pogba was fit .

27.) 13 Sep 2019
13 Sep 2019 21:45:47
Yeah him and mctom i'm sure. Right side and 10 from jessie if available mata pierira and greenwood?

28.) 14 Sep 2019
14 Sep 2019 07:18:32
Yellow Benteens

Yes read the article and was not surprised that senior players would be questioning his credibility. His results since being permanent do not inspire confidence. I think his best bet today would be to play Greenwood Gomes Garner. However, I expect Matic and Mata.

Bolger2

I am very awake, I just wish some fans and the board at United were.

We are miles behind, yet many of those on here saying give Ole time were the ones berating Mourinho when finishing 2nd. Given we are miles behind people think sticking with the unknown is the way forward, yet given the credentials of the manager it is more likely to increase the gap. But hey he has the DNA

I hope for a vibrant win today, with trust in youth like Greenwood and Gomes paying off. I just don’t think the long term rebuild should be given to someone who has no relevant experience other than playing under the greatest. Enjoy the game.

30.) 14 Sep 2019

I have to say I am very pessimistic. This could be somewhat embarrassing.

31.) 14 Sep 2019
14 Sep 2019 08:11:43
I said we should play greenwood buring thr summer? Snd got slated by some of the same people who now want to play him and garner.
I will be very surprised if garner plays.

32.) 14 Sep 2019
14 Sep 2019 08:51:06
Danny, should the manager say the players are rubbish and we have no chance.

Players have to believe in the manager just as much as the manager does the players.

We seen jose tactics of slating players went well.

33.) 14 Sep 2019
14 Sep 2019 08:56:19
Neither do I Ken, but he’s the one who’ll get the sack if these issues mean the team is struggling to compete for top four.

If the transfer team has hung him out to dry by leaving him with a squad that’s an injury or two away from Leicester’s level, why is he praising them and saying that the club’s transfer structure doesn’t need reform?

34.) 14 Sep 2019
14 Sep 2019 10:44:09
That's what the last manager did Danny and got nowhere. Ogs is obviously trying a different approach.
He knows the fans are not stupid but is obviously trying too keep positivity rather than negativity. But the bottom line is he needs to improve the results it doesn't matter what he says.
