Hypothetical question.

After coming second, if board had given Jose all the players he needed (irrespective of age and prufe), where would we be now?

I am pretty sure Jose would not be as negative as he turned out to be. A happy manager could have really changed things.

With his desired signings, our season wouldn't be that bad and i think he wouldn't have been sacked.

It is all if's and but's but I think our rebuilding would have gone good.

I think we would have a bunch of old player and Jose would still been gone because he did not play attacking football and that’s what we crave.

I think we would have challenged at the top last season and won a trophy.

Ole would have been rippin it up at Molde.

You could be right srestha but the way jose handled himself in his third season and especially on that pre season tour was disgraceful regardless of whether or not he got his signings.

Ed002 repeatedly said mourinho was never really happy in manchester and these problems would have surfaced whether or not he got his centre back in or not.

For example club captain antonio valencia would still have been a passenger, mourinho still would have fallen out with pogba, lukaku would still have been 24 stone, alexis sanchez would still have been a doing a poor imitation of a professional footballer, rashford and martial would still have been marginalised, matic still would have been slower than gemma collins running a 5K and juan mata still would have been a highly paid blogger.

I don't know if he would've been happy because he was never happy in Manchester. Lukaku's first touch, Pogba's workrate and positioning and Matic's slow movement wouldn't have changed.

What I do know is that we would've had Red Man's favorite manager with a glorious CV who can do no wrong and we wouldn't have been subjected to the same whiny posts and new ways to find fault with the manager from him every alternate day.

{Ed047's Note - but it’s ok to read whiny posts about whiny posts? 🤷‍♂️

You never know DSG. With better players around this players, they could have really come out good.

Jose would have targeted Perisic to provide supply for Lukaku.
He would have targeted Alderweirald and Joao Felix.
He is a proven serial winner. So maybe we would have been challenging for the title.

Jose wasnt happy in manchester because he wasnt backed like he should have been and was promised the opposite of what he got! simple as that.

He's always played boring football. We would've bought another 5 30yr old players. And things will still be the same.
Ole is not great, but he's trying to change the culture.

REDFAITH

Firstly Mourinho is not my favourite manager. No idea how many times I have to keep saying it. You want me to repeat what I said on here going back to before Moyes was a ridiculous notion? If he could do no wrong he would never have been sacked anywhere, but he had this knack of winning trophies. I now get harassed just for answering the straightforward question from a poster without the post even mentioning the failed Cardiff manager.

Don’t have a clue where we’d be if Jose is backed, but AAA what evidence is there that Ole is trying to change the culture?

Wasn’t Jose’s biggest gripe that club refused to move on players he claimed had a bad attitude, and wouldn’t carry out his instructions on the pitch?

How has Ole changed this? Have you seen a change in attitude and effort since last December?

It's an impossible question to answer.
Alderwireld is in a leaky spurs defence this season.
I tend to think if jose had his way last summer 18 then pogba would have been gone and we would be better off other think the opposite but who knows its all guessing and conjecture.

We should of stuck with Jose and backed him against Pogba. Pogba needs to be sold asap . Ole is not the answer i think he will walk at Christmas with us sitting in 10th 🤣🤣 I've said it before only Roy Keane with a calming Assistant will get us going again.

{Ed025's Note - roy keane would be a nightmare BFRO not only is he a egotistical maniac but a grade 1 arsehole to boot, he would destroy any confidence the players have left and would have the media on your backs due to having no personality at all to speak of mate..

Point taken ed25 but SAF and Jose both had problem with the media. Man Utd has lost the fear factor Mr Keane would definitely bring it back 🤣🤣.

{Ed025's Note - i would certainly fear for you if you appointed him mate..

I said it ages ago Ed, but Roberto Martinez is the man. Top bloke, great with the players, great with the press and plays good football. Not the best defensively I admit, but nor is Pep. That's what defensive coaches are for! 😀.

{Ed025's Note - he was a breath of fresh air when he came to everton betty for all the reasons you have stated, we have turned into a graveyard for managers mate and i dont think you are far behind, everton were very gung-ho under bobby which made us good to watch but easy to beat and that wins you friends but not trophies..
