Martial is out tonight.
Does ole go with youth and throw greenwood on as a straight swap?
Or does he move rash in from where he is scoring?
Move james back to the left?
Or change formation altogether?

Id go with greenwood as a straight swap. He looks like scoring every time he plays which is more than you can say for martial.
It minimises disruption to the team.
He has earned the chance.

I think Ole will 3 at the back, with Lingard as number 10 and Rash and James up front.

Switch to 5-3-2? Extra body in midfield with pacebof rash and james up front wide. Jesse in false nine/ 3rd midfielder role? (Not that he has really earned it)

I don't see Greenwood starting. Plus you always need a player on the bench who can change things and get you a goal.

I would switch to 4312 or 3412. My preference would be to keep a back four, but with us having so few midfielders I struggle to see how we name three in the middle.

Have Rashford and James up front. Lingard in the No.10 role, he has been poor but his off the ball work against a top side will be needed, and he has a habit of scoring in the important games.

In midfield I would go with Fred and Levitt. However, I don't see Andreas Pereira being dropped. Maybe play all three is the solution, rather than going to a back three.

That would give is a lot of work rate and numbers in midfield, with pace up front. If Tuanzebe is fit enough to play the full 90 then I would start him ahead of Lindelof who will likely be targeted by Jose who knows his weaknesses better than anyone. If we can go into the game with AWB, Tuanzebe, Maguire and Williams then Jose will only really know Tuanzebe, but not as well as he knows Lindelof or Jones for example. Jose is a well prepared manager, we need him to have as little intimate knowledge of our defence as possible. As he will exploit any insider knowledge he has.

Yes Greenwood has a striker's instinct.
Hope its a straight swap between Martial and Greenwood.

But yet again the midfield is the biggest concern. We just simply lack quality with Andreas, Mata or Fred.

Could even go 4312 with an extra body in midfield. Spurs tend to play narrow and rely on fullbacks for width. James and rash are ideal to pin back fullbacks. Mctom, Andreas, Fred, with Jesse at 10.

We will need a strong midfield tonight. If Spurs are on form though they will just be far too strong for us regardless of who we put out. Bearing that in mind I would play four four two with James and Rashford up top in midfield I woukd have Jesse and Garner to provide some attacking threat and have pereira and feed sitting more defensively. Would instruct our fullbacks to try and get forward to provide as much width as poss. Then have Gomez and Greenwood on the bench as attacking options.

Not sure I would be starting McTominay. We can't afford to rush him back and risk him breaking down again. He was carrying a knock for a few games before the injury. Maybe a role on the bench with 20-30 minutes in the second half to shore us up in the closing stages.

We need Mctominay over the Christmas period, better for him to miss one game now then 3-4 over a two week period over Christmas.

I believe McT is still injured.

I think he’ll go with 3 cb’s with Fred, Perreira and Lingard / Mata in midfield and Rashford and James up top. They could cause problems for Spurs’s cb’s.
