Think Marc roca would be a fantastic signing, 40m release clause to I think. Like why can't we sign someone like that, still young about to take the next step up, price that isn't screwing us. Up off your arse Woodie please.

Release clauses in Spain and Portugal are only applicable to other Iberian sides. It's a legal requirement they have to have in their contracts and not something we can take advantage of.

I think we should bring exit clauses in here.

They should be the total value of the remaining contract value of the players.

Would mean players wages are proportionally linked to their value and pull in the crazy transfers.

Down side is for small clubs but they get bent over anyway. would be better in my opinion and give players some freedom.

Imagine not being able to leave your job you hate for a dream job unless the new employer pays compensation? Well paid conscripts.

Utd Road, I have said something similar for years. The general consensus is that players are overpaid, yet the argument against that is they are paid at what the clubs value them at. If that is the case then why should a club demand more for a player than they feel he is worth and they pay him.

Something needs to be done to bring transfers under control, whether that is a cap on the transfer fee either by linking it to the players wages or by some other measure. Or there needs to be a cap placed on how much a club can spend on transfers per year, either an arbitrary amount or an amount linked to turnover, profit or wage bill.

Finances in football are out of control and something needs to be done to rein it in. I can remember Alan Shearer moving to Newcastle for 15m which is the equivalent of 28m today with inflation. I thought that was an insane amount of money for what was the best striker in the league. Now though players from the Championship can cost as much as 30m, its insane.

Why would he sign for us. Nobody else we are after wants to either. I hope united fans aren't falling for this spin of we are looking. It's true but facts are players don't want to come near or because A they have agents who can get them into better run clubs atm. B prospective players have eyes and ears and will not be ignorant to the on going shambles that is us unfortunately.
