It's good to talk about transfers as it brings a bit of normalcy and expectations that everything will be back to normal in the coming months. But what do you guys think will be estimated time line within which the world would go back to being normal.
I find it very hard to believe that all will be ok in the foreseeable future. The economies are crashing and the cure doesn't look anywhere near discovery.
Transfer of players is just a waste of money and effort in my opinion right now.

No one knows, and we can only speculate. I have read articles where "experts" argue things will be back to normal within a few months, while I have read others where "experts" argue that we will never return to what was "normal". That things will fundamentally change forever because of this.

Ultimately it's all just speculation. We just need to focus on the here and now, help each other where we can and ride it out. Only when we come out of it on the other side can we truly start to think about timelines for things to return to some kind of "normality".

This is just my opinion but i reckon most countries will adopt a mode similar to sweden where people are advised to socially distance where possible and wfh where it is easy to do so.

But non essential shops and retailers will be allowed to reopen and people will be advised to use their common sense when out and about. This will obviously lead to an increase in infections and deaths but the decsions for most governments now isn't between life and money. Its between life and life.

Most of history shows that extended periods of economic depression or deep recession in an economy leads to increases in mortality over the long term.

The government can't keep paying people to stay at home and lockdown is not a proper long term answer to this pandemic.

Wise words DSG can't keep spending the future generations money hiding from this thing, it's waiting outside the door, and it ain't going away any time soon.

I’m not sure we can expect to return to “normal” any time soon.

There will be a long “phased return” across business and industry over I can imagine at least a 6-12 month period. That’s if we ever get back to “normalcy”.

A large number of business who have previously said employees can’t work from home as it wouldn’t work for business will no longer have those arguments!

I’m genuinely not sure we will ever see a return to what was the previous norm. A new normalcy will rise out of the ashes of this pandemic.

Maybe a dim word view, but I just don’t see any quick fix.
