It is finally out of the bag. MEN reports a return to training on 18th May as I predicted. Mind you players can only train in groups of six. If all is okay they will be able to train as a group at the end of May.
Does this mean we can finish the season now?
What do you think and what do you expect from the team if we are able to continue the season?

I really can't believe and understand how people are going on beating the drum about football. And that includes several on these pages. You don't value human lives or what. I don't care if the season and the season after get cancelled unless lives are normal again. Train in groups of 6 or individually, even if a single person gets infected due to that does football take responsibility for that, do the players, clubs, PL, FA? Who? We the fans, the people complaining about no football or missing football are then responsible for all lives lost. Do you realise the calamity we are in? Do you realise the number of deaths worldwide and all the "fans" care for is football. Give the damn pool the title and get it done with if that's what the whole bloody drama is.

Couldn’t agree more shan.

Well said shan. Its a very narrow minded view by some fans and by those in charge to be forcing a restart when so many lives are still being lost daily. But then are we really surprised when the same people can't follow simple instructions not to meet up with others to save lives. SELFISH is the only word to describe it.

Just out of interest what would it take for those lambasting fans thinking of getting football going again to be content with the resumption of football?

I only ask this question because it is very easy to hide from this virus and cast those in favour of a loosening of restrictions as reckless.

You could be cheering Utd from your home and next door an Ambulance could be taking a neighbour to hospital with C.V. 19 that is how bizarre this proposal is. Its all about money and nothing to do with people and health don't let them kid you . Its a disgrace the only fair proposal for everybody is scrap this season. Liverpool will win it next year anyway what does it matter . 😷😷.

jred a bit like your daft remarke about plenty of people still working. they are having to follow rules of safe distancing. why should football players be any different. it smacks in the face all small firms who are going under after following the rules. as for the players wanting o play ask the players with newborn babies and players with kids. i bet most are just as scared as the rest of us. but not like us they can afford to ride it out.

in reply to your op, I'm not sure the season will restart although I think the ed has said that is the plan .
Imo a lot will depend what happens in the coming months.
But just like everything else footy will be back, sounds like a lot won't be happy about it will happen any how .
It will all be part of the new normal.

Jred assuming this is the new normal and football does resume, would players be made to wear masks and follow social distancing norms in the game. Will Maguire receive the ball from DeGea and run all the way to the other end and score because players have to be atleast a meter apart from each other. So no tackling. Ridiculous.

Learn to live with the virus and die quickly because you are going to get infected. OR. Try to avoid it till the time there is a cure even if it means no football. I'd rather choose the second option. Wont you? Or is it ok to die just fr a game of football.
