Seems dembele may be available fairly priced this summer, option to Sancho perhaps? No doubting his talent, questions over his fitness but still fairly young.

{Ed002's Note - MU have no interest.}

Appreciate there’s no interest in Dembele but would the fact such huge ‘discounts’ may be available on Dembele, Coutinho and others cause us to think twice on established targets? It shouldn’t do if we are going about our business the right way. The player identified to improve a position in the team should remain the target and hopefully we get them for a lower price. Interesting to see what Barca’s financial issues in particular impact wider transfer fees. £80m quoted now for Grealish for example looks way off beam. I can’t see anyone selling for north of £80m now as transfer market adjusts to C. V.

{Ed002's Note - Barcelona has an FFP issue which they can fix this summer but they have a cash-flow problem meaning that they need to sell players, they need to use players as part of transfer dealings (and they have a lengthy list of players available) and they need to prioritise what transfers will go ahead. They very much want Lautaro Martinez to replace Suarez but they do not have the cash to push ahead with that and other deals, so Inter might get Junior Firpo and perhaps a little cash as the first of two payments on Martinez and then cash or cash plus another player later. For Neymar it is more difficult. They are trying to employ the lady from Marseille to help with negotiations and have been speaking with agents about getting the best deals. But one thing clubs must avoid is simply buying for the sake of it. It is potentially disruptive. I don't know what Barcelona would accept for Dembele but there is a general feeling they paid well over the odds for him originally.}

Would be surprised if anyone goes near him. So prone to injury it's unbelievable.

Surely given the current medical crisis we should avoid signing players who spend more time in the medical bay than on the pitch.

Thanks for the extensive reply re Barcelona’s FFP Ed002.

City and PSG’s FFP issues are well documented but are there other clubs for whom FFP will be a major restriction?

Neither Real or Juve for example look to be able to stump up £90m+ for Pogba. Though admittedly that may well be as they just don’t rate the #BestPlayerInTheWorld (?!? ) in that price bracket.

Just as Barcelona overpaid massively for Dembele (double what he was actually worth? ) whenever Pogba finally shuffles off he’ll go down as a poor investment surely.

{Ed002's Note - Manchester City and PSG don’t have FFP issues. Numerous other sides have issue.}
