No place for Rashford?

{Ed001's Note - how can you include a guy on so few appearances in a position? He was a right winger in the youth team and has mostly played up front or right wing in the first team. A couple of excellent performances are not enough to suddenly be a top 10 player on the left. That is the problem he is going to have throughout his career unless he holds down one spot on a regular basis. Don't get me wrong, I really like Rashford as a player, but he has not done enough in any one position to nail himself down as being that position. If he continues to impress on the left, which does look to be his best position, then he will be sure to be in there. At the moment though, I couldn't put him on the strength of what he has done.}

In 16 appearances on the left wing this season for United Rashford has 12 goals and 2 assists. Directly contributing to 14 goals in 16 appearances.

Mane in 27 appearances on the left has scored 11 and assisted 8. Directly contributing to 19 goals.

Now Rashford has missed around 12 games due to injury, but based on his form before injury he would have needed only 3 goal contributions from 11 games to match Mane's output. Which I think is highly likely he would have scored or assisted at least 3 probably more.

Now I'm not saying Rashford is a better player than Mane, but with a very similar if not better goals per game ratio from the left wing this season I think he at least deserves to be in the top 10.

Many Liverpool fans consider Mane to be our best player despite Salah consistently out scoring him over the course of a season. These stats are pretty much irrelevant imo without any context. For example, as well as scoring and creating many goals, I'm not sure I know many left wingers in world football who contribute so much defensively as Mane.

The Rash is the future of United.

TheUnbearableReds, I agree Mane is probably the best and most in form all round left winger in the world currently. His work rate both going forwards and backwards is fantastic, while he creates and scores goals.

Rashford is more of a wide forward, he is far more focused on scoring goals, and he has shown that when fit he does so at a fantastic rate.

Simply look at the list of 10 players and ask would the fans of that players team which that player for Rashford if they had the chance. All bar the Liverpool fans with Mane would at least consider it, most would take that swap. Which to me suggests Rashford should at least be on the list.

Having said that Rashford would be in my personal top 10 as well off the top of my head, he looks to have made a step forward this season but needs to do it for a prolonged period really to be considered among Mane, Hazard etc.

I swear Rashford plays more on the left then on the right.

To have those players from Wolves, Napoli and Lyon ahead of him is a joke.

I also don't think Sterling or Mane is better then Ronaldo.

Ronaldo at 40 will still score more goals then Mane and Sterling.
