Bravo Marcus Rashford!

Some children now don't go hungry and some parents can sleep a little easier. What a pity it takes a 22 year old footballer to lead the way for our Government to take what is pretty basic and obvious action.

Sorry for the politics.

Remember people on here questioning the lad's personality not that long ago. Johnny bigballs, and all that. Just because he got a tattoo or his ear pierced. He's always come across as a pleasant, level-headed young family man, and I'm really proud of him and what he's done these last few days.

Very wise head on young shoulders.

Brilliant, give him sports personality of the year.

I was one of those NouCamp. I didn't like the road he was going down on the pitch. He was incredibly greedy, tricks and flicks when they weren't needed, shooting from any and everywhere and taking free kicks and shooting from anywhere within 40 yards of the goal.

I was worried about him being around unprofessional players like Lingard and Pogba and the effect it could have on his development. I had no idea about his charity work and I'm delighted to have been wrong. His work and the amount of money he's raised for those kids is absolutely amazing.

Its fantastic a great effort, 99 makes a good point.

He’s obviously got the right people around him supporting him and advising him. its always dangerous a young player shooting to fame but it seems that rashfords support network has kept him grounded and in touch with his community. I commend him, and them both for how he’s turned out, hopefully it continues and provides him success both on and off the pitch.

Wait till he goes on a baron spell of goals. he will be given a hard time for focusing on good causes.

Quite rightly as well Ken. These footballers should keep themselves out of matters which are clearly none of their business.

16 Jun 2020 21:49:26
I hope you're being ironic, MancMan. Stopping kids from going hungry should be everyone's business.

Mumbles, fair play. It's easy to see them all as a single blob. Most of them, tho, are just young, working-class lads, from families that have made big sacrifices for their kids. I think most of them don't forget what got them here and what they had to go through to get it. Unfortunately, one or two of the more unprofessional ones give the majority a bad name.

Ken he's got to get a knighthood first. Being a Baron is ranked higher in the honours list I think. I may be wrong.

Well done to rashford. See he is having a few words with the lovely lady the Hopkins one.

That’s hopkins is a vicious piece of work who gains publicity from being divisive. Like van Aanholt said, rashy has done more for the uk in the last 24 hours than she has in her entire career.

17 Jun 2020 00:22:01
Sorry, MancMan, I've just saw your first post in this thread. You were obviously being ironic.

Leahy, I was so hoping that fake reply to her, was the real thing :)

Same as that 99. How you getting on my friend. Long time no chat. We might have a live chat soon.

I'm ok, Leahy. Not really been a lockdown for me, mate. Feckin' working more than ever. But at least I have my job. Luckier than many.

As regards the football, I remember at the start of all this, thinking there was no point in bringing back football without the fans as the atmosphere would be keek. Now, I couldn't care if they played in the local park. Just give me something to watch! The wife has been frantically watching all her Sky + recordings, because she knows she'll not get near the tv for the next lot of weeks.

Hope things are good with you and yours, fella.

Good now mate. Same as that I was kept busy all the time. I've watched a lot of old games. The only thing I like to back the first goalscorer but no one would take my bet.

Not really a fan of Piers Morgan, but do love his tweet of a picture of Marcus Rashford with the caption

"Great to have a proper No10 running the country".

Wont be watching any game whilst the names on the back of the shirt are removed.

{Ed001's Note - what kind of person complains about that? It is only a recent addition so that idiots will pay extra to have a name on the back of their shirt. Only a saddo cares about the name on the back rather than the badge on the front.....or a bigot who is far too racist to agree with the message being expressed...

Finally Premier League players and the league as an entity are using their power to produce some change for good and still there are those who are whining.}

Stop having kids if you can’t afford them. I know it’s not the kid’s fault but some of these parents only see them as a meal ticket and don’t care about them.

Couldn’t agree more Blackpool.

24.) 18 Jun 2020
18 Jun 2020 03:52:01
DJ what's your real issue? The names not being there or certain something being there instead of the name. Never heard of people not watching football because the jersey didn't have a name on it.

25.) 18 Jun 2020
17 Jun 2020 07:53:37
True Blackpool. And some people have kids just to get a free place to live, But they have them and no kid on this planet deserves not to eat. So rashford done a great thing there.

Dan James. It's only for the good.
There's too much evil in the world now. It unites people.
Now I saw an interview with Morgan freeman the other night and he said the way to stop racism is to stop talking about it. So I get you if that's the angle your coming from.

There's a bigger agenda out there than what mmeets the eye with everything that's going on right now.

BLM is for the democrats in USA, all funds donated go to fund the Biden election campaign. Last big BLM movement was 2016 now one in 2020. Both years have something important in common in the US. It's really not so difficult to fathom. It's not about Black, White, Asian or Hispanic. This is all about POWER.

@DanJames - factcheck.org debunked that conspiracy.

I think we are at a stage now that people really need to start thinking whether likes Facebook, twitter or WhatsApp are really worth it. The amount of damage they do to society seems to really outweigh the good these days.

29.) 18 Jun 2020
18 Jun 2020 11:59:49
You do know ACTBLUE is a donating tool for Democrats don't you? SMH

"ActBlue is a nonprofit technology organization established in June 2004 that enables Democrats, progressive groups, and left-leaning nonprofits to raise money on the Internet by providing them with online fundraising software"

Ok ok the money maybe doesn't directly go to Biden, but its all to do with the democrats influence.

30.) 18 Jun 2020
18 Jun 2020 15:00:46
DanJames, It's pointless arguing where or who the money goes to as it will be close to impossible for anyone without many years of accountancy training and experience and legal access to paperwork to actually workout exactly where the money is going.

So conspiracy theories aside, the truth of the matter is do you believe that Black lives are valued the same as White lives in our society? While is there a fairness in opportunities? And if the answer to both of those questions is No, then do you believe they/ there should be?

I think you need to have a word with yourself if the fight against racism offends you.

31.) 18 Jun 2020
18 Jun 2020 15:14:20
DanJames just stop with the bs mate. The money paid via ActBlue goes to whoever you are sending it to. You are donating to a charity or politician of your choice not to Act Blue. They are just the intermediary in that transaction.

Remember when i wrote its nothing to do with race? I've never given a crap about race, you take people as they come, not based on their skin colour.

What is this "protest" all about? Injustice of a black man that was wrongly killed (the officer will face the consequences) but is a convicted criminal and had a violent past hence his treatment, and now hailed as some kind of martyr. Which since then has caused havoc across the world.

The BLM movement is pro defunding police forces. So these police who protect us during football matches etc won't be needed anymore? If your house is burgled who you going to call? The premier league allowing this protest is pro defunding police.

What is all this removal of slave statues? If there is no problem you won't mind boycotting the likes of Apple, Nike etc etc. Where does it stop?

Whats wrong with kick it out, they do a great job and continue to do so.

Wheres the uproar on human rights in Qatar where the world cup is being held? Where is the uproar about Man City owners?
Everything is bs, it's a political agenda, the dems in USA have been using black people for years and years and continue to do so.

Everything is controlled and manipulated and people lap it up.
