Fa cup semi final to look forward to. I realise some people put little importance on the fa cup but winning breads winning its a good habit so while it was not a good performance we still won and keep this impressive run of results going.
To me, 9 of the 1st 11 pick themselves with the rw and possibly cb the only positions up for major debate.
Id like to see that 9 take the pitch together as often as possible between now and the end of the season, and see where that takes us.
Lots on here calling for a bit of luck with injuries and it has to be said we have had our fair share so we can only hope for a clean bill of health beteeen now and the end of the season.

Good post ken. Great result, great to be in the semi again and as you say it breeds winning.

Good post, Ken. I think Greenwood has clearly been better than James or Mata at RW.

Bailly or Lindelof is more of a debate. Lindelof seems to be considered a little steadier. Bailly has a touch of unpredictability about him, but is the best CB at closing down space.

Bailly needs a run of games at CB. We clearly need a CB with pace when Maguire is at the back.

The game was rusty due to a lot of changes.
I felt Maguire was easily the best player on the pitch.
Don't remember losing even a single header.
Composure on the ball and several crucial blocks.

I thought last night highlighted the lack of width that we have in the squad, as well as the lack of depth in quality. We don't have full backs that can get a cross in or wingers that can beat a man and go on the outside.

Poor game yesterday but important minutes for a few, a lotvof them haven't played much footy even before the lockdown.

Attack v defence basically the game yesterday much deserved win. Maguire played really well, Bailly offers something extra than Lindelof for me.
How Brandon didn't get a start I don't know, he looked the better full back when he came on out of him Dalot and Shaw, tho shaw was decent himself.
Romero, probably should have saved Cantwell goal but easy to judge from here, solid as usual.
Fernandes with a few lovely touches and could see his 1st instinct is forward which is what we need, left his shooting boots at home tho.
McTominay went about his business quietly.
Mata and Lingard on the periphery of the game for me.
Ighalo, a lot of us scoffed at the signing me included but he's been fantastic and offers something different, a real poacher, loved his goal.
Rash and Martial looked lively enough but feel took to many touches than needed.
Greenwood, you can see he has something of an x factor, a run of games could see a glut of goals.
All in all happy with are thru, breeds a winning mentality as Ole said. We have a good run in the league, wouldn't it be nice to end the season with 2 trophies in our cabinet at OT.

Agree with you Alex James. We made very very hard work of beating a poor team. We definitely need more width. Also defensively we were lucky we were not facing a better team. Too many times they could have scored with a better final pass. For me we need a really fast top centre half to partner Maguire. Best player on the pitch was Bruno as usual. He is just different class. He is creative and yet willingly tracks back to break up opposition attacks.

Few key points from the game:

We won and are into the Semi's.

Several squad players got vital minutes, they will become more important as the games come think and fast.

Bailly if he can stay fit might be a better CB partner for Maguire. Reads the game and covers better than Lindelof.

Williams has in my opinion over taken Dalot in the pecking order. With Laird (who was rated higher than Williams) ready to potentially breakthrough I understand why the club would listen to offers for Dalot.

Finally I mentioned a few months back that I would prefer Cantwell to Grealish. I thought Cantwell was the best player on the pitch yesterday. All of Norwich's most dangerous play cam through him, he worked tirelessly in both directions, had a touch of class and scored a good goal.

Agreed Ken - we clearly cannot win the league so an FA Cup and Europa League would signifying remarkable progress from the club and go some way to help the squad and management team develop a winning mentality.
