So city play in the cl next season.
Whoever thought that ban would be upheld didn't read the facts.

It was overturned on time limitations wasn't it? Why is the fine still in place if they didn't breach the regulations?

Some aspects were time limitations others the burden of proof wasn't significant enough the fine is mainly in part to city's lack of coperation with the investigation I believe.

Whole thing was a non-event and waste of time. City were not guilty.

Absolute joke of a decision. What's the point of having ffp if you don't have to adhere to it? or pick and choose who can and can't break it. just shows that monet talks and football is corrupt, its not the first time either from city. City and psg may aswell be sponsored by uefa or fifa.

{Ed002's Note - Complete rubbish. If you don't understand things at all then don't post. It is embarrassing.}

I'm just surprised that UEFA went for the jugular knowing full well their evidence was weak. It makes the whole process and organisation look incredibly stupid.

Ed002 so they pay a 10 mill fine why would they pay that if they didn't do anything wrong? Yeah I agree that I don't understand fully the finances but if you break the rules then you need to be punished. Why give a 2 year ban but then rescind it? Let's face it a 10 mill fine for City is loose change, last time they were fined they got quite a bit of that back. From the outside it just seems a joke of a decision. If you don't mind can you explain it to me please so I can understand it better.

{Ed002's Note - The fine that was levied related to Manchester City’ disregard of the whole matter (they thought it was a sham) which led to the club effectively obstruction the investigations - nothing to do with breaching FFP. You would do better to drop this - it is clearly confusing the fans of most clubs.

Dannyc,

There is a guy called Rui Pinto who illegally obtained information about City who is now serving a prison sentence because of that.

That was why it was always going to get thrown out as the information was illegally obtained then it can't be used as evidence.

Thanks ed002 sorry if I annoyed you, it wasn't my intention, I'll learn to stay out of stuff that I don't know the full facts about or do some more research before making posts.

Ed002 do you think the whole ffp thing will be ditched in the coming years? Does it actually have any real benefit to clubs?

{Ed002's Note - No. Why the concern?}

{Ed002's Note - It is not a complaint against you Danny - everyone is making wild statements about something they don't understand.}

No concern ed002 just wondered. Hope you enjoy the rest of your day and will give your head peace now 😂.

{Ed002's Note - Thanks Tim.}

I don't understand it either. But the big question is. Did they break the rules. Yes or no.
Same as all walks of life the ones with the money and power walk free.
If leahyfrom Cork went in to a shop and stole a bar of chocolate wort 1 pound he would get jail.

{Ed002's Note - This is simply rubbish - you need to drop it.}

So City got fined for resisting arrest on a made up charge that they knew they weren't guilty of.

Sounds like a roust for UEFA to generate some money.

My opinion though is enough money has been thrown about (bribes, donations, sponsorships etc. ) to have the decision go City's way. Football in the CV era is taking a financial hit, surely it could use a team whose owners can splash cash one way or the other.

{Ed001's Note - nonsense. It was nothing to do with any of that and you clearly are completely ignorant of what CAS do. This is just wrong mate. The decision was correct, much as I hate to say so.}

15.) 13 Jul 2020
13 Jul 2020 14:06:29
LOL Ed, that is why I said it is my opinion and did not claim it as a fact. Surely people believe in worse conspiracies than this. ;)

{Ed001's Note - that doesn't mean they aren't rubbish.}

16.) 13 Jul 2020
13 Jul 2020 14:48:29
Sometimes I need a bit of such rubbish to swallow a bitter pill.

{Ed001's Note - I am not sure why it matters? I would rather beat City on the pitch, than have them banned.}

What has happened was just, they didn't breach the rules, they just didn't cooperate with authorities, so something along the lines of obstruction, hence the fine for non compliance.

I think it is fair and now we have to be among the 4 best teams in the league to qualify, which is the way it should be, rather than getting in through a loop hole.
