As the season draws to a close, what do you guys think of your season, so far. Also, what do you think next season holds for you.

{Ed004's Note - I think a lot will depend on how the next 2 games pan out. If we secure top 4 and maybe even 3rd along with a decent cup room in Europa and I think its a brilliant season. I've refrained from posting on the site the last few days because of the amount of negativity after losing our first game in I think 19 maybe.

I think everyone on the site will agree that at the start of the season City and Lpool both had superior sides to us and then our team got ravaged by injuries. We missed key players such as Pogba, Rashford, Martial etc for long periods and had to rely on the likes of Andreas, Lingard, Mata etc. All players posters will be quick to point out arent good enough for a top 8 side yet expect us to be sitting top 4 comfortably with them. I think the question youve asked would be better evaluated in a weeks time because these next 2 games are fundamental.

However, the one thing I will note. Even if we don't perform in these next 2 games atleast we have an identity and know what Ole is striving for. He's come in and there's been remarkable improvements in a lot of players such as Rashford, Martial, Mason, Shaw etc. We are certainly still a few players short and it'll be atleast another season of rebuilding before we put Liverpool and City under pressure for the league but I think I read we currently have the youngest side in the league on average? with a lot of youngsters only going to get better and players entering their peak.}

I absolutely agree with everything you said ED004, I don't understand some doom and gloom posts here after the sunday defeat, We are still in contention to get champions league footy, heck we could even get third place, someone else mentioned to me that if it wasn't for Brendan/ Leicester ability to balls things up we were not even be in the picture, we have had so many key injuries to key players and still kept on going, getting the results needed to be where we are right now, we have balls things up ourselves as well, if I remember correctly we have had 3 chances to get above Chelsea and one to Leicester and we didn't take advantage of those situations, we are playing great footy in my eyes, Ole is giving us identity again, I never understood what kind of footy we played under MR parking the bus, It was just horrible to watch, now we are playing with intent to hurt the opposite team, playing fast footy, now I know we are not at Liverpool/ City level yet but we are certainly progressing in my eyes, first time I'm genuinely excited about an upcoming season, Ole gets 2/ 3 right players in this transfer window and I think we could compete, we'll see. We are a young team and that has me excited for the future.

People seem to forget it's a 38 game season, Reman.

Hey Ed004, Absolutely agree with your response.
The number of positives this season is admirable considering the injury rampant 1st half of season.

We are seeing a lot of core Manchester United culture back.
A manager putting the club above him, promoting youth, bringing better play style than the predecessors.

The rebuilding continues.

{Ed004's Note - It is the core Manutd culture that is being brought back that is vitally important for me. The players seem happy, they're improving and they are putting the effort in. My biggest gripe of the season is that we didn't secure Bruno in the summer because he really was a massive missing piece to our attack. With him there I would be confident in saying we would have secured champions league football already}

Good reply Ed004 I always really enjoy reading your posts. I think all the Ed's command an enormous amount of respect and it's always welcome when you get involved in the debates.

{Ed004's Note - Thanks DLIB}

Ed004 that’s a fantastic post mate.

{Ed004's Note - Cheers Caolan. Feel like sometimes its best to process a result before commenting on it. I think, myself very much included, all of us can get very easily caught up in the emotions of a bad result but there have been positives this season}

That’s it Ed- we are all guilty off it. I think we need to realise the size of the job that’s on to get back to the top and be thankful that we are at least showing signs of improving.

{Ed004's Note - It was a massive job when Ole took over. You could easily name 10-12 players that needed to be sold}
