Ed can you please confirm that Rashford is settled and happy at the club? Someone told me he might Decide to move somewhere else to play as a 9.

{Ed002's Note - I am not aware of him being unhappy with his lot. He won't be moving this summer but there will be interest in him next summer.}

Thought it was rashford himself who didn't want to play as an out and out striker and preferred cutting in from the left as a wide forward which is why him and martial swapped.

I believe PSG have him as a top target for next Summer.
But I guess no worries since he is a muncunian.

PSG expect to see Mbappe leave for between 200-250m next summer, they have Rashford earmarked as a potential replacement. Failing that if Real Madrid can't afford Mbappe then they might look too Rashford as a cheaper alternative.

I'd fancy our chances of keeping Rashford from PSG, yet if Real Madrid come in for him we might have a battle to keep him. The pathway between United to Real Madrid is a well walked one, we pushed Beckham and Heinze to Real Madrid, while we fought to keep RvN and Ronaldo and lost.

I'm hoping Real Madrid get Mbappe next year.

We need to keep our best players, especially the homegrown ones as they provide something that you just don't get very often from players signed.

Where did you hear we fought to keep RVN Shappy? I heard him and Ronaldo had a fallout and Fergie decided to get rid of him and keep Ronnie. All hearsay though obviously.

TheDarkKnight, Real Madrid first attempted to sign him two years before we sold him to Real Madrid, in the same way as Ronaldo.

For two years we fought to keep him. Ultimately RvN and Ronaldo had a falling out and the club decided not to fight to keep him for a third time.

So basically we let him go just like we let heinze and Beckham go and completely different from what happened with ronaldo.

Not quite CSM. We packed Beckham off to Madrid out of spite, a deal was agreed with Barcelona but they then pipped us to Ronaldinho, so we approached Madrid and said would they like to sign Beckham. We were actively looking to sell him.

With Heinze he tried to push through a move to Liverpool, which we blocked and then looked to offload him abroad.

With Ronaldo we didn't want to sell at any point and Real Madrid kept coming back every summer pushing for a move. In the end the club agreed to the sale as it was the players wish.

With RvN Real Madrid approached us in both of the two summers before we agreed to sell him, with us rejecting them both times. Eventually we agreed as the player wish to leave after a falling out with Ronaldo and the club backed Ronaldo. So RvN with his nose out of joint wanted to leave and the club agreed to let him leave.

Much in the same way Ronaldo left a few years later.

Shappy,

Does rashford strike you as the beckham type who wants to be a global superstar? Most South American players dream of Madrid or Barcelona and obviously ronaldo had it as his dream from a young age.

I might have been a bit younger but I don’t remember Ruud ever trying to force his way to Madrid.

Rashford born and bred in Manchester. For him this is his dream, can call me naive but I can’t see him being desperate to end up at Madrid or the likes unless we don’t challenge for trophies.

Shappy did rvn ever want to leave though? Ronaldo was pushing for the move and we wanted to keep him. Rvn left when we wanted to get rid of him, very different situation, whatever happened i don't see madrid having any pull over rashford. There is no i want to play for madrid 1 day thing there and one thing we have shown with pogba is we won't sell just because madrid want a player.

Rashford has never openly said he wants to play for Real Madrid. But then neither did Gareth Bale until Madrid came knocking.

If Real Madrid come calling for Rashford he will genuinely give it some serious thought. We are a few years away from genuinely challenging for the title, whereas Real Madrid are regularly challenging for titles and UCL's.

Shappy just accept you maybe wrong sometimes mate, this is just arguing for sake of it. Rashford isn't a 30 year old whose prime is about to end is looking for trophies and a final payday.

Its a huge difference between going from tottenham to madrid and utd to madrid, we aren't winning right now but club are going in the right direction and more important than that rashford is under contract until 2023 with a 1 year option for 2024 and is paid 200k a week which will increase if he performs well, to suggest that utd and tottenham are similar statured clubs and madrid can somehow sign him from us with utd being unable to stop it if madrid are adamant enough is pure bull crap and you know it.
