Just reading some reports of the wages Sancho will apparently be on. Even with a pinch of salt paying a 20 year old roughly £340k a week is absolutely ludacris.

This is an incredibly dangerous precedent to set considering the young squad we have.

Everything I've read about this deal rubs me up the wrong way.

Fantastic player he may be, this is not how you build a squad.

Surely it’s exactly how you build a squad? Get rid of the players who aren’t good enough and replace with players who are and kids who are good enough.

I've read that those figures are based on the assumption that all bonuses and performance based add ons are included, and that the basic would be closer to £200k-250k pw.

No idea of the truth though.

There are contradicting reports about what he will earn. May be that quoted money are before tax.

I have read the same thing as RedD. Overall wages will depend on bonuses, which is fine imo. If he isn't injured, if he scores and assists, he will get way more money, he should be trying hard to fulfill those bonuses.

That’s what these guys earn now. £50k a week is ludicrous let alone any more. Is what it is and nothing to do with us what they’re paid.

In most articles i have read it's been said between 200-220k a week which is around what Martial and Rashford earn.

Eric, I'm not commenting on their wages like that. I'm saying that if he's one of the highest paid players at the club at 20 it will cause us issues down the road.

If he is on parity with Rashford and Martial that's fine but as we seen with Sanchez, someone on higher wages can cause problems with the rest of the squad.

Mumbles,

It can cause problems if they don't perform but we would have 3 of England's best young attacking players as well as Martial being fed by Bruno and probably Pogba, think about the squads we had in recent years and how much better the team will now look.

Williams came from nowhere and I would expect Mengi to do similar next season which will help at the back. We also have some other good kids coming through, Mejbri, Garner etc, so you'd think in the next few years we might only need to make the odd signing here and there rather than wholesale changes each window. Things seem to be going a bit too well at the moment!

He won't be getting more than rash or martial is imagine.
340 is wide of the mark that's ahead of Pogba and alongside ddg.
Im not fussed how much we pay him to be honest as long as he delivers.
Not many would have moaned about his wages if sanchez had scored 35 goals a season.
If sancho does well and his team mates do well i don't care what they are paid. Its when they under perform that the wages get questioned and rightly so.
Its a very expensive transfer mumbles there is no doubt about it. let's see how he does. If he is tearing it up and the team are benefiting then the cost will be justified.
Im looking forward to seeing him settle in and i hope he does well i do believe he looks the real deal.
We were paying sanchez more than double whatever sancho is getting so its not all bad.

Ken, when did you become the voice of reason? Suits ya!

GDS2, I'll be very happy with the signing if it gets over the line but all depends who else we get in over the next while too.

There were always about 3 or 4 different numbers thrown around for alexis when he signed. Unless the club or player reveals what they earn then it’s hard to know. I don’t care what he’s paid provided he performs.

I don't care what he's paid or how much he costs. It's not my money the club is using. We can afford it and we will be shifting others off the wage bill soon. If you want the top players, you pay the top money. Quite simple.

supposedly deal is way off these so called journalist who are supposed to be in the know do my head in with their bull. and why can't we just never get a transfer done simple like other teams we need a DOF woodward and judge are useless .

I think a lot of it is calculated guess work. Dortmund supposedly put a deadline of the 10th of August and I think many journalist are basing where we are in sorting a deal in accordance to that date.

Ultimately it's a wait and see. If he joins then we can debate whether he is value for money or not.

Scott,

Because it’s a £100m deal, in your head did the VVD to Liverpool deal just go through really easy and it’s only United that take ages on these long deals?

The problem is the misinformation you read in the press where they can’t print the same thing every day so just change the story all the time, we ‘walked away’ from Bruno about 10 times in January, it’s best to just not let it bother you and enjoy the Europa league.

Why get so het up about the wages. We can't influence things like that. We all know it's absurd for footballers especially the prima Donna ones to get obscene amounts but that's how life can be at times. absurd. Just chill be entertained by the idiot press making false claim to know after false claim by the end of the transfer we will see who ends up where and concentrate on the main thing. The football games.
