Who is the leading candidate for the right wing position that we seem to be prioritising, in the event Dortmund’s greed proves too much, and with seemingly backup option Torres signing for City?
Personally I feel the mooted valuation is unrealistic in the climate and holding out for a year might be the wisest option, hinting at a loan move for a player, such as Coman. Although I haven’t seen much of him.

Chiesa. Better player currently, similar potential, fraction of the transfer fee, lower wage demand and much more reasonable agent fees.

Coman has been offered to the club, while they are supposedly keeping an eye on Chiesa.

While the club might not be looking at them I think there are some very good players available Adama Troare for example, if you are looking for a potentially cheaper option then players like Ismalia Sarr, Emi Buendia and Moussa Diaby could all come in and do a great job on the right for us.

I got torn a new one on here for suggesting Buendia last week. :D
But seriously, some decent players in the running should Sancho or even Chiesa prove too costly.

The main issue with Buendia is that isn't as good as any of our current front 3. Sancho and Chiesa are clearly a level above Buendia who would be a squad player. If we needed to replace Dan James then Buendia makes plenty of sense.

Spenno: I want to buy your tv.

Me: I don’t want or need to sell my tv, I’m going to keep it.

Spenno: come on sell me your tv, I really really really want your tv.

Me: I don’t want to sell it, but if you really really really want it, I’ll sell it for a grand.

Spenno: don’t be so greedy.

We have a habit of overpaying for players, so I think Sancho will get done to be honest.

We shouldn’t be going anywhere near buendia. Not going to take us up a level at all. Not a bad player however he doesn’t score nowhere near as much as you expect a winger to do so. Our very own mr James has one less assist and more goals in far less games. Not sure we need another player of similar capabilities.

If we can pay £120 million for Sancho, let's spend the rest of the budget on Neymar. Looking at most posts we have the money for Koulibaly, Grealish and Chilwell. We must be loaded.

Buendia is criminally underrated by so many, mostly likely because he plays for Norwich.

He ranks 4th in the EPL for Key Passes, with only KdB, Maddison and Grealish above him.

He ranks 4th in the EPL for expected assists (xA), with only KdB, TAA and Mahrez ranked above him.

Ranks 4th for successful dribbles in the EPL, with only Traore, Saint-Maxmin and Zaha ahead of him.

In Europe's top five leagues only Messi has played more through balls and created more "big chances".

And ranks 3rd in the league for passes into the opposition penalty area.

Yet he isn't just about creativity, he works hard for the team and does loads of defensive work.

He averages 13.6km distance covered per game, for context the league average is 11.4km. Anything over 12.5 places you in the top 10. Buendia is second in the league.

He ranks 5th for presses per game in the EPL, and is first amongst players 23 or under.

Is 4th in the league for counter-presses.

Makes more tackles in the defensive third of the pitch than any other forward in the league.

While, he is third for Norwich for appearances this season and 7th for minutes played. So is very much a regular starter.

Emi Buendia is one of the most complete and creative forwards in the EPL this season. He is EPL proven, which is far more than most other targets for the RW and would be significantly cheaper than most. Especially when we consider that he has managed this while playing for the worst team in the league. He was responsible for 21.3% of Norwich's league goals this season.

The only thing that really let's him down is he doesn't shoot enough, yet in a United side that would potentially contain Rashford, Martial, Greenwood and Bruno we don't really need a goalscorer, but a goal creator. And Buendia is one of the best in the league.

Buendia combines the work rate and defensive nous of Park Ji Sung, but with elite levels of creativity.

Shappy, stats are stats and can be spun in plenty of ways. Marlon Harewood scored 14 PL goals in a season once, Andy Johnson scored 21.

Would you start Buendia ahead of any of our current front 3? I certainly wouldn't despite thinking Buendia is a good player.

I’d imagine the scouts have noticed him Shappy, and imagine they have decided he isn’t the man. Given recent changes in player recruitment strategy and successful signings - I think I’ll back them. I’d take Sancho over him any day.

I would definitely start Buendía most games. He is statistically the 4th most creative player in the league despite playing for the worst team in the league. He would have got close to 20 assists in a team that could finish chances. While his lack of goals might well come from his teammates inability to create good chances for him. He scored 8 or 9 goals last season in the Championship.

We have Rashford, Martial and Greenwood who outscored Liverpool's front three. Our problems wasn't having players who couldn't finish chances, our problem has been a lack of players creating chances. Until Bruno signed and Pogba returned from injury we were blunted by a lack of creation.

It's a squad game and very few players are guaranteed starters, I think Buendía would offer us something we are lacking and would definitely be a regular starter.
