There's only one transfer being talked about at the moment apparently Dortmund have set today as a "deadline" for the deal and will comment about it at 3:30 today. Ed do you expect us to move onto other targets or are we still putting our eggs in the Sancho basket?

{Ed002's Note - I would expect Manchester United to look to someone else if they cannot agree the transfer of Sancho.}

Cheers ed it might mean we improve a few more positions in the squad if we went for someone cheaper like Chiesa instead so there may be positives.

Are there any other players the club are currently working on we should keep an eye on ed or are they still focusing mainly on trying to secure Sancho?

{Ed002's Note - They are not going to be doing anything with an alternative whilst the Sancho situation is unresolved.}

I guess we’ll know soon enough.

It’s difficult to say whether they’re bluffing or not. Certainly if they’re able to convince him to sign an improved deal there’s seemingly no reason for them to sell below what they value him at this summer.

There’s my worry. That we waste the whole summer on this one deal, only for it not to happen and for us to miss out on others. We are so amateurish In our negotiating and yet again it seems as if we think if we wait long enough we can haggle the price down. Unless sancho strikes (he won’t) then why would Dortmund take less? We have a number of areas to address and by previous windows we can only do 1 deal at a time so this saga is worrying. Today may not be a firm deadline but maybe it should be.

If united pay what Dortmund want they he joins. Regardless of any deadline set by them. The October deadline is the only one that really matters.

Think Dortmund give the player higher wages if he stays but the length of contract stays the same (lewandowski) - correct me if i'm wrong.
Is it like a bonus for not kicking up a fuss and pushing for a move?

{Ed002's Note - No, not at all.}

Haha. Saw that earlier Scoob. Would love it to be true, but if a deal had been agreed I doubt Sancho would have flown out to Switzerland today for Dortmunds training camp - especially as he was in the UK yesterday.

Ole was on about extending his own contract.

ED002 in regards to the reported "10th August deadline" that Dortmund have reportedly set, do you know if there is any truth in that.

I understand that in an ideal world, all incoming/ outgoing transfer would be complete before pre season commences, excluding the impact. of C.V.

{Ed002's Note - They are starting their preseason today which was the driver.}

Have the Sancho alternatives been discussed on the site?

{Ed047's Note - yes Eric, it’s either Sancho or Sancho 😉

Chiesa would be a good alternative, would imagine he's been mentioned.

{Ed047's Note - 🤣🤣 me neither mate

Ed002 just out of interest; is there any room for negotiation for Sancho? For example if Dortmund say the price is 100 million, is there anything clever Utd can do to reduce the price to say £80 million?

Does extending the timescale of the negotiation or apparently looking at alternatives affect the price or are Utd's amateurs just kidding themselves?

{Ed002's Note - Dortmund are of the opinion there time is being wasted.}
