Thiago looks like he's heading to Liverpool. Class player who'll only strengthen them. Appreciate he's 29 but €30m looks great business. I'm sure Klopp has given him quite a pitch. Liverpool sadly on the up.

Speaking of Germany does anyone listen to the Phil Brown / Beyond The Pitch podcast? Suggesting Haaland chose Dortmund for football reasons as impressed by their scouting of him, highlighted areas of development and how they'd play him and fine tune his skills etc. Whereas I think United's offer was just a call from Ole. Evidence of the amateur approach that the Eds talk about? Wouldn't be surprised if Bellingham wooed by the same approach.

Got to take your hat off to Dortmund. They've created a business model which has them competing (though largely unsuccessfully) against one of the biggest clubs in the world who dominate their league. Always in the Champs League. Always investing in youth and giving it a chance to shine. And making millions off the back of it.

{Ed0666's Note - Dortmund had been courting Harland for a long time. They rolled out the red carpet. Also they gave him and his father a very favorable contract for when and if he moves.

Dortmund was the perfect move for him financially as I am sure his side will receive a chunky portion of the transfer fee when he moves next. Add that to a decent release clause and you have yourself a very good deal for the player. But that deal would not suit a club like ours with ambitions to develop a very good player and retain him for the next 10 years.

I don't think Liverpool will pay at least 30 million euros for Thiago I believe he will end up somewhere else or even staying at Bayern and going on a free.

He is a bargain at that price. Class act, pool will pay.
