Rotation of the squad and our front 3 seems to be the new topic .
The scouse have just walked the league this season
Mane played 47 games this season 50 last
Salah 43 this season 52 last season
Firmino 52 this season 48 last .

This season martial 48, rashford 44 greenwood 49 .

{Ed047's Note - they are in a completely different league to your front 3 though

Ed47 scored less goals than our front 3 this season .
But that's not really the point of the post.
You should maybe worry about your own front 3 .

{Ed047's Note - maybe I should but I’m not and didn’t win you nowt though did it 🤷‍♂️

Ed47, qualities wise yes but i think Jred is trying to compare the number of games they have played since people are complaing about the depth and lack of rotation.

{Ed047's Note - I know mate, was just teasing 😊😉

Ed if they don't stop illegally tapping up players they could be in a different league. prison league haha.
Seriously though when will clubs learn and this is all clubs as some don't get found out?

That should put to bed any excuses like martial and rashford were injured so much that we didn't play well.

Jred, the issue is that although Greenwood made 49 appearances, he played 1954 minutes which equates to just under 22 full games.

He is young and will not be physically able to play 3388 minutes that Mane played this season or the 3620 minutes that Salah has played.

Yet he does look ready for a bigger role.

While Rashford and Martial have played 3070 and 3132 minutes respectively. Both short of what Mane and Salah managed. Both have suffered with injuries and had the season not been stopped for 3 months Rashford would have made significantly less minutes due to injury.

Also all three of Liverpool's players are 28 and in their prime, while our players are young and will need to be taken out of the spotlight from time to time. With Greenwood still growing physically and needing more rest that the others.

Having a 4th choice top quality option will be very important for us next season, especially when you consider the shortened summer break, rotation will be more important than ever next season. However, that option doesn't need to be Jadon Sancho, and the club don't need to be held to ransom for him. If a deal can be struck then great, but if not then we can look to other options.

I think Greenwood should be looking to start 30-35 games next season with maybe another 10-15 sub appearances. I think he is most likely to get that on the RW.

No one had an issue with an 18/ 19 year old Ronaldo playing most weeks at RW, while later in his career he played mainly on the left or centrally. So for me if we can't sign Sancho then maybe Greenwood should be first choice RW and we should be looking at a player who can support him and rotate with him.

In that respect David Brooks wouldn't be a bad signing.

Ken 3 semi final runs lot of cup games . Always need to look at the bigger picture .
But a bit like 47 (unsurprisingly not really the point of the op )

jred, Liverpool have extraordinary fullbacks who are contributing immensely to their attack.
That's the extra bit of quality which they have with the rest of the teams.

Moreover, our front 3 are not even at their peak yet.
It will be a mouth watering attack in 2-3 years.

I agree but like i say seems to be a lot of talk at the moment about us not making changes or certain players playing to much .
But your better players play and I think that's always been the case .

Ole pitchside before the Sevilla game said
“We are physically definitely ready, ” the United boss said ahead of the game. “Mentally the boys will be ready because a semi-final everyone would want to take part and join in. I just want them to enjoy it. "

And then 120 minutes later.

"It’s quite exciting to work with these boys but then again you could see how tired they were at the end - tired legs and tired minds. So we’ll need the break we can have now and go again very soon. ”

So What is it jred? Who's talking crap, us or the manager? Every game we played we seemed to get worse. Playing largely the same starting 11 will definetely have an effect.

Bringing on a striker in the 93rd minute when the players had tired legs and tired minds. Genius.

I thought we played well in the game against sevill.
Whats your point?
Ole said the players where ready and fit?
So that's what he played .
Tired minds at the end of a 62 game sesson of course . But that's the same for everyteam .
I would be more worried if players weren't tired after a game

Playing largely the same starting 11 will definetely have an effect?
Yet as I point out above in my op mane salah and firmino play week in week out?
Infact good players do, mind you all players are ready for a rest at thd end of the season .
You can as always try to turn this into and ole bashing thread .
But the op is about game time for players .
Salah has played 42, 52 and 52 games for the scouse what's the issue?

Liverpool are current English, European and world champions. Your dig at ed47 saying he should worry about his own teams players, while on the same hand talking about players of a team that are light years ahead of us.

They have a manager who has instilled a way of playing. They don't get tired because they're motivated and conditioned not to.

Your original post is about Liverpool walking the league with the same front 3, so why are people talking about rotation?

The reason we are is because Rashford was back from a long injury lay off and played the majority of football after the restart. He was clearly not 100%. Other players for dipped with each game. The managers insistence of playing the same team may have cost us two chances at winning a trophy.

This all stems from you being happy for the club to spend obscene amounts of money and Sancho. When others would like the money spent smarter and bringing in numbers because clearly the manager only fancies 14/ 15 players which will definetely cause problems next year.

We don't have the quality to replace our front 3 and neither do Liverpool.

Ed47 lol not really the point of the post tho is it.
I would say your past worrying about arsenal.

{Ed047's Note - no mate was only jesting fella and yes you are 100% right about Arsenal.

Your front 3 are pretty good to be fair, not so struck on Martial if I’m honest and you really could and should have better in that 9 role but the other two, particularly Greenwood, I definitely like, he could be very special.

Rashford keeps losing his way a little but is still young and I’m sure will be fine.

How does it all stem from me being happy if the club sign sancho?

Liverpool have clearly shown that you can do great things with out rotating constantly.

But this is nothing new . If fit 9 out of 10 times your best players play . Ronaldo kane messi KDB salah VVD, if fit normally play. But its not just the top teams its the same at any level of football.

Interesting debate here. I would fall alongside Ed047 here. Greenwood looks special, rashford will be good - I don't see why he doesn't play on the right more, but Martial is hit n miss - obviously talented but longer term I think greenwood plays 9. As for the Liverpool link which brought the response - our front 3 remain fit and in forn and our 3 of our best and most important players hence they don't get rotated too often although it would be nice to have more competition for places. It's our own point of development.
