Latest reports have confirmed that Shappy has organized a Jamie Vardy type party at his residence tonight to celebrate DVdB signing (almost) .

Well done if he is signed on. How he slots in with Bruno and Pogba seems to be the question now because our fullbacks are worthless going forwards so a diamond seems out of the question.

Or is Pogba gone now?

I'm on tender hooks until he holds up the shirt. I can't get my hopes up to have them dashed.

As for where does he fit. Well Lingard and Andreas Pereira played nearly 5000 minutes between them.

DvdB would offer so much more than either by of them. He can play any role in midfield with little to no drop off in quality.

If we can sell Mufc to VdB and Fernandes, were we really in for De Ligt, Haaland or Bellingham? I know Ed said we rolled out the carpet for Bellingham and thought OLE would be enough for Haaland to sign. Maybe we can't map out a younger talents Road for them.

Cantona it's a difficult place to come as a youngster. a lot of pressure and I suppose the mapping out is a big thing, when your already a seasoned pro I suppose it's a lot easier to make the decision to come. Vdb will be an amazing signing for us, much better option than grealish.

Autocorrect strikes again 😂, to be fair with DvdB about to sign I'll not that fussed.

Mumbles, in some ways he has shades of Lampard about him. He just knows how to use space, especially around the opposition box. While he maybe works a little harder than Lampard and his vision and appreciation of the game means he can play as a creative midfielder dictator moving the ball and controlling the tempo.

So he could easily step in for either Bruno or Pogba with ease. He has on occasion played as a No.6, and done well. However, I would say that his long range passing is only so-so, which can limit his impact when played deeper. Also his ability to create space around the box or ghost in and finish a move are his best assets, which means he is best when either given license to get forward or played further forward.

His signing would mean that we can look at our bench and see a quality player there to bring on and help change the game.

I’m convinced that PP will now be asked to play as the ‘6’ on occasions where we are expecting to dominate the ball (against the bottom half etc. )
DvdB really does remove the issue we had for the last half a dozen or so games. Bruno was obviously shattered but the drop off in class to anyone else was so big, we had to flog him into the ground. No more ☺️.
