Its difficult to judge sancho based on international games and witn the german league Dortmund look good until they play bayern.

I really don't think sancho is the awnser for that amount of money,
I don't know who is the awnser but I think we could wait another year and play 532 with wing backs pushing up high

Sancho could be the answer for the next 8/ 9 years.

I'd imagine if we don't get Sancho this summer then he will never sign for us. Other clubs were interested before the C.V. impacted their finances. If they are in the position to finance a move next summer we won't be the only club trying to sign him.

At the moment we are second in a one horse race to sign Sancho. We know what is needed, if we want him then do that, if not stop dwelling, wasting time and target another player for that position.

I've watched a fair amount of Sancho and in my opinion he is a very good player who has a lot of individual ability. He does play in a league where some of the defending is suspect which undoubtedly helps his stats but his movement, dribbling ability and I'd argue most important for us is his ability to play quickly would all improve us.

For the same money we could probably sign 3 players but it's the club's decision to make as to who they feel improve us most and whether that's the best way to spend.

Our fullbacks are poor or average going forward.
So 532 won't suit us.

I agree its this summer or never for Sancho. If he has another 20 goal and 20 assist season or better at Dortmund his value will go up and there will be other sides sniffing around without the restrictions of C.V. effecting them. Barcelona will be looking for a Messi replacement next summer and will likely have a new president who'll be looking for a statement signing. Real Madrid might have a look if they fail to get Mbappe, while if they get Mbappe then PSG might look to Sancho as a replacement, Liverpool will likely lose one of Salah or Mane next summer and could look to Sancho as well. While Juventus could throw their hat in the ring and never discount Bayern to take a key player from a domestic rival.

We have a free run at a hugely expensive but young and talented player. If he is too much and we can't afford it then fine, move on and look to sign someone else. However, if we don't sign him then we can look at different tactics to get the best out of our squad.

Interesting that folk believe this CV is only here for now and will soon be a thing of the past. A tad naive in my view.

Scooby not at all. I'm a mature student at University. I am seeing first hand how much time and money the University has put in to running next year in what they are calling a "blended" learning experience, of guided online learning and small group seminars. No lectures, campus capacity down to between 30-50% at all times. Which for a campus that normally has 25-28k on campus during term time that is a massive undertaking. My wife works at the Uni and has been told she will be working remotely until January at least but its likely she won't be back in the office until September next year if at all.

This situation will be around for a long time, we will never likely return to what we called "normal" before.

However, the longer this goes on the better an understanding of the circumstances we will gain. While football might not be back to normal with full capacity stadiums maybe until the 21/ 22 season, the club's will at least have a better understanding of their finances and how they will be impacted in the short, medium and long term.

At the moment it is the uncertainty that is more damaging moving forward than the impacts. Club's will have a better grasp of what they can afford, where they can spend and what their wage structure will look like, along with all club finances.

Shappy fella, it’s amused me lately you keep mentioning

By any chance are you at university or something?
Good for you if you are, and I wish you every success.
But we get it.

Shappy, with respect, you are an individual, not 'folk'.
