It's a huge price for Sancho, a young player, the German league can be very poor outside the top two, remember Kagawa and Myketiryan (spelling) were the German players of the year before they arrived and both had no impact here. I'm sure there's a concern given the overall cost. Will this impact on the game time for Greenwood, who given last year's experience should improve again this season.

There are many who have flourished as well, like Aubameyang, Sane, De Bruyne, Firminho etc, .

Ballack, Klinsmann, Hamann, Rosler, Lehman, Sane, Gundogan, Ozil, Kompany, Dzeko and Podolski all
Did well too. Sure there are more I can’t remember.

Ps Sancho is English - he will be an amazing Signing for us. Just what we need attacking wise.

If we can add a LB too we are in great shape.

Couldn’t have put that any more negatively if you tried redcon 😂

If we sign Sancho we have 3 quality forwards in the first 11 and a game changer on the bench, provided they are all fit.

If one is injured we have a like for like replacement ready to step in. A big improvement on Lingard, James and Mata.

I also like the fact we’d arguably have England’s 3 brightest young forwards in our squad.

It’s an excellent signing if it happens. Sancho, vdB and an other would be a very good window given the ongoing situation. We will probably see some outgoings in the next couple of weeks.

People are quick to dismiss out transfer activity but I don’t see much to complain about in this window if we get Sancho done plus another, and two or three shipped out.

When you spend such large fees on a player it will always split opinion. I remember some people had reservations about Di Maria, Pogba, Lukaku and Maguire.

The issue when you spend so much money on one player is that there is an expectation for them to be world class and make the difference in every game. If they manage it then people shrug their shoulders as if its nothing and should be expected. If they have a bad game or fail to be world class in every game then out come the pitchforks.

Sancho is a hugely talented player who if we get, will almost certainly improve us greatly both in the first team and in terms of depth.

However, he is only 20 years old. He will have bad games, which inevitably will boil over in to hyperbole over "wasted" money etc.

Personally I'd look at other options as I feel the fees are just too big and you always need to have a point at which you walk away. Otherwise the fees will just keep getting bigger and bigger. When we signed Di Maira for just shy of 60m everyone thought that was a huge jump from the 38m we spent on Mata a couple of years previously. Then came Pogba at 89m. Since then we have paid 75m for Lukaku and 80m for Maguire good but not world class players. Now if we spend 108m on Sancho how much will the next top young talent cost us? We moan that we consistently get over charged for players yet complain if our club walks away from a deal because its too expensive.

However, if the club sign Sancho I will be over the moon that we have managed to sign our top target and will have improve the side.

On paper looks great Wazza. 3 brightest Englands forwards. If they fullfill their potential they can be England's trident in 2-3 years, Rashford left, Sancho right and Greenwood thought the middle.

I won't be too quick to dismiss Redcon's concerns. For all the names mentioned, not one played for utd, where as RC gave us Kagawa and Mhki, both from BvB like sancho, both excelled there yet flopped with us, he didn't go on to mention the likes of Nuri Sahin who also flopped in the EPl but did well at Dortmund nor did he generalize it by adding Bastian who even though wansnt in his prime, didn't have the impact we hoped.
We all hope and pray to get the likes of Sancho who must be an improvement to our current team, but that doesn't mean that somewhere in us we also hope he doesn't flop like those RC pointed out; especially for such a sum.
