Grealish has signed new contract with Villa. I think it is the best option for him to remain a first team starter and see what happens in future years.
If we were in for him I imagine our interest subsided after DVB.

DVB imo is a better player with champions league experience and much better financial value.

His versatility as a no 10, no 8 and 6 will add much needed squad depth.
He can now share the creative burden with Pogba and Bruno.

I am happy with DVB and we then focus on other areas this season. I am sure we explored Grealish but as soon as Villa stayed up and the price was what it was I don't think we were ever going to go down this route.

This might be controversial but I think Grealish has found his level. Same as Zaha and Matt Le Tissier, and many other great EPL players who never made it at a top club.

While they have the talent to play for clubs finishing in and around the European places they don't have the mentality to do so.

Great players when they are the big fish in a small pond, but lack the mentality to step up imo.

Angel, Grealish has been heralded as the next big thing since he was 18. He turns 26 this season.

Many players are greats at club's not challenging at the top, Leon Osman and Tim Cahill at Everton or Viduka and Kewell at Leeds.

Not all good players at smaller club's step up well to big club's. Ultimately it comes down to mentality. I don't think Grealish has it. The fact that he renewed with Villa and no other top sides went in for him suggests that many others have the same concerns about him.

Honestly shaps, never heard of him being 'the next big thing', ever.

Good player, could kick on at a better team. Think his level is higher than Villa.
