Welcome to 20-21 season. There is no doubt we looked behind Palace in terms of fitness and training, that is for sure. These are strange times but whilst saying we looked behind Palace, our last game was only what 35 days ago, did the players really lose so much in that short time?

However, let's cut to the chase, the obvious situation that is not changing in this new season is there is no obvious pattern of play. We went out there and just looked bewildered at what we were doing. Our forwards have not scored in three games and yesterday Palace kept us at bay easily, we rarely threatened. Despite adding Bruno there was little carving open of their defence. Palace came with a game plan, obvious from the start and it clearly worked, yet we played as bewilderingly as the look on Ole's face. We passed the ball slowly from side to side, hardly looked threatening with no real Centre Forward to get amongst them and make a difference. I recall being told on here we should build around Lindelof, well that went well, yet he seems to be Ole's first choice. The great new hope Mengi was not even on the bench. Ole started with TFM and James. TFM did ok but James is no good against a team that sit back, it has been said numerous times yet Ole can't see that. TFM and James down one side, Champions level.

We have to face the situation, Ole has been here coming up to two years and we still don't see what he is trying to do, what our pattern is. When Pep and Klopp arrived you knew and saw it, yet nearly two years and we are as bewildered as the manager. Palace yesterday gave us a lesson, they were well organised with a plan, I am no Hodgson fan but he embarrassed Ole yesterday. You all knew I would say this but it is the painful truth. There will be good games this season but it is likely to be a similar outcome. The way others have strengthened means top four is tough. Even Everton have improved and have a manager who knows what he is doing.

The board now have a difficult decision. They already spent £240m for Ole and get presented with that yesterday. If they do what he has asked that will bring the total up to £417m by my reckoning, empty all the coffers. They would be placing the whole club on one number of the roulette table. If that doesn't work and they sack him then we have no money for the next manager.

If the board are daft enough to back Ole to the tune of another £170m, the excuse will be they will take time to bed in, so sit back content that 21-22 will be our year. Our transition to being Liverpool of the 90's complete. It is not acceptable for our club to be in this continuing mess.

We looked drained with 3wks to go of last season, we weren't sharp then, hardly anyone has had time to recharge there batteries, I fear things could get worse. The only one that look anything like fit to me was Luke Shaw.

We have had 1 preseason friendly some of the players not even that and it showed .

I've seen us lose a lot of games ed47, I get over it, its football, everything is rosy at arsenal atm, managed to keep a player for once, the 2nd coming in arteta, I somehow don't think it will last and then it will be your turn bud, hope you don't hide behind the red ink when that happens 😉 🤣.
