'The club feel that fans and the media should trust the process and be more appreciative of the difficulties involved' Really? What process would that be exactly? Add this to last weeks comments on the fans creating negativity and it's just sheer arrogance from those in charge.

The difficulties involved? 🤣🤣🤣
Maybe if they had competent people to negotiate deals we wouldn’t be in this predicament. The good thing now is that most fans see through the PR bull and have had enough.

I do think it’s a bit of both, the club need to do a lot better but the spoilt fans especially on social media are a total abomination. Commenting on everything United post that they don’t care about our history as long as we sign xxxxxx.

Seen people posting on here how they don’t care about the kids coming through we need to spend £100m on so and so, so many people adamant the club should spend £108m on Sancho during a C.V., there’s got to be some understanding which is lacking.

So GDS the club are trying to blame the fans for their amateurish behaviour and that's OK with you?

Surely as a fan that spends money on a shirt, other merchandise, pays for MUTV, sky, BT sports etc and in a regular season, spends a fortune going to matches should be quiet and not moan?

I don't get it. without fans the club are nothing, so why should they be scolded if they want to complain and put an opinion forward.

It's as if football is protected from fan ire as in pay up and shut up. fans have the right to complain if they don't beive they get value for money, the same with any entertainment or other social event.

The club are trying to deflect from their own amateurish dealings and refuse to accept responsibility by placing blame anywhere else but on themselves.

Maybe having your phone switched on might stop some difficulties!

The club knowing the deadline for Sancho continued to not submit a bid but to speak with agents. They are arrogant to think they could now offer and get the player. I’m not sure Woodward and judge know the process of how to sign a player which is where the difficulties come from.

Fans will naturally measure how we perform on and off the pitch against the rest of the ‘big 6’
I agree there is this spoilt part of the fan base but I don’t think they represents the majority of us. The club puts so much crap out there about their social media presence so can’t complain when they’re attacked on there also.
Jones, Rojo, Smalling, Lingard, Pereira all given new deals and high wages. A major problem as we can’t keep buying players unless we get them off the books. Stupidity in both selling and buying players consistently. We’ll just have to suck it up for now.

Couldn’t have said it better JB.

The club have been using these tactics for a while. They don’t like being called out on there poor running of the club.
I don’t get all this Woodward isn’t really to blame, someone within the club must have the power to change the things that are wrong to hire and fire. By now surely they are aware that the way there are doing business is harming the clubs image and reputation. It’s negligence if they allow it to carry on or like evra said maybe Woodward just trusts people to easily but if that’s the case then he himself should go.

Jonny,

That is 100% not what I am saying, where did I blame the fans for anything?

I think you’re misunderstanding your role in the club by paying for things, if you go and shop at Asda you can’t then complain how they sell their bananas, you’d just go and shop elsewhere. The club don’t force you to do any of the things you mention above and they don’t give you a right to anything really.

Think if you read my post you’ll see I said the club need to do better but there is an element of a toxic fan base that don’t help matters, especially on social media.

There’s some truth in the club having to take responsibility especially in meeting a fee in excess of 100mill. I know personally while I’d like sancho I can accept the fee for the overall deal is too much, however I can’t accept them not addressing other areas which need fixing. Lb cb and rw are all massive problems and none have been sorted. Surely there’s players we can get for those positions that will improve us but not cost the same figures as the sancho deal?

I think Tim has it right.
There’s no issue if the club decide spending £100m+ on Sancho is too much. However, the season has already started and we’re so incompetent that all we’ve managed to do is bring in a midfielder (albeit a good one) and improve an area which needed the least improvement.
If they decided a week after the season finished that the price is too much for Sancho then we could have moved on and integrated our new signings in to the squad, ready for the start of the new season. Surely it’s not that hard to operate efficiently like this? Other clubs seem to do it pretty well.

GDS2 - Have you really just compared supporting a footballing Club to shopping at Asda. Forgive me mate but unlike where people buy their bananas they are are emotionally attached to their football Club. Using your analogy if all the so called toxic fans just voted with their feet and went to support another Club Woodward and Co wouldn't have a football Club to manage.

Fans are loyal, they are emotionally attached to their Clubs, most support them through thick or thin for their entire lives. They are allowed to vent their frustration when their Club is run poorly by investments bankers that have no business making footballing decisions.

With all due respect if the owners and decision makers at the Club adopt your analogy of put up or shut up and then we really are in big trouble .

Fans aren't stupid they can see exactly what is going on and when mistakes of the past keep occurring and decisions in the board room effect performances on the pitch fans have every right to highlight the incompetence and demand better.

Gds wears red glasses under a red balaclava under a red helmet 😂. can't see reality imo. Gds is not alone there are lots of fans that would agree with him.
Good post johnny and all others in the thread.

Might be an issue with regards to Judge and Woodward both going to Bristol University, not sure if exactly the same time. Woodward trusts Judge and his financial background to get the job done.

Gds, if you buought your banana's from asda and they was all rotten when you got home, you would have a right to complain in my opinion.

15.) 23 Sep 2020
23 Sep 2020 18:35:14
If enough people stop buying bananas, then surely asda would identify it as an issue and make change. Not blame the customers for not buying them.

Wait, are we really using bananas as a metaphor for United.

Sorry GDS, your analogy is a false equivalence.

Season ticket holders pay for their ticket up front. I can choose not to go, but I have already paid for the match. yes I can sell it but that takes time and effort, so effectively I could be stuck with the 18 tickets I have to sell and the onus is on me to find a buyer.

If I subscribe to sky or bt sport, I am in a contract, for a year with penalties if I leave.

I have been a season ticket holder since I was 5 years old, so for almost 50 years I have been going I went with my grandad with my dad, uncles, friends, I am completely invested in the club and that club are now defecating on me and my family form a great height, how am I to blame for the incompetence of the club and why should I blindly follow and keep my mouth shut. following the team is very expensive and I have every right to criticise the absolute shambles we have become. have I not?

17.) 23 Sep 2020
23 Sep 2020 22:03:33
Apparently not Jonny. We should blindly follow the people running the club (badly) and keep our mouths shut! Keep plying them with your money though.

Jonny,

Nobody asked you to keep your mouth shut mate, certainly not me, you’ve read what I said and assumed I was taking about you have I said mainly fans on social media which I assume is who the club were talking about. I doubt they specifically meant Jonny Blaze or any other specific season ticket holder yet you’ve taken it to heart.

Ken, all of my opinions are always ignored and belittled because I have ‘red tinted glasses’, such an easy thing to say when someone has a different opinion to you, you’ve started commenting on everything I post now calling me the police as if you’re somehow in charge of the site. It’s weird as I’ve always respected your opinion so perhaps respect mine, if you’ve been on social media you will see exactly what I mean, ‘fans’ writing nonsense on every Facebook post as if the Facebook admin is the one that should be signing Sancho.

As mentioned previously, buying a season ticket doesn’t give you any right to demand anything from the club, the right you have is not to renew your season ticket next time really, you’re one of 50,000 others all with differing opinions, they can’t listen to everyone unfortunately.
