Some part of me wants Smalling transfer to not go through
He's coming back from a very good loan spell, he has always been a good performer for us, not great but usually good.
His passing is not great, but it's okay and he is a defender first.
He is good at sweeping up and him and Maguire is our best CB partnership at the club.

I cann see the logic but watching us play out from the back today at no point did i think you know what chris smalling could do a job for us.

Get rid of smalling and rojo this summer, go into the season with lindelof, maguire, bailly and axel/ mengi. Then the following summer strengthen at centre back with upamacano for example.

Rohan I think he’s a decent defender, but I always worry about a penalty from needless shirt pulling from him.

Smalling and VAR are a match made in hell. guaranteed penalty at every corner 🤷‍♂️.

He’s never been that good. We need to sell him.

Smalling is playing well in a weaker league. He was average at best for United. And not the CB we need to challenge for honours. We should be selling Smalling, Rojo and Jones as a minimum. Upamecano is a must buy.

If we buy Telles, can Shaw partner Maguire? Shaw has the pace and he did well whenever we played with 3 at the back.
Of course, this is totally different, just wanted to see what everyone thinks about it?

Our players always look better when they're not actually on the pitch for us.

I do wonder how many Roma games everyone watched last season to know how great Smalling was. So great in fact that Roma think he’s worth €12m, practically Prime Maldini and Nesta.

It's amazing how much a player can improve for us. Without even playing.

If we are playing out from the back, Smalling will create a havoc.
The ball is like a hot potato for him.

But he suits EPL more than Lindelof.

No idea why people want to bench Lindelof after every game but fail to see Maguire's shortcomings, day in and day out.

Exactly Raghav, at least Lindelof is more often than not just beaten in a one on one or outmuscled, which means he's in the thick of it. Maguire just looks like he's afraid of breaking the law again and is taking his social distancing a little too seriously.
