Cagey game between two evenly-matched sides. Hard to watch at times. Both seemed afraid to push on and win the game. Don't want to make young James a scapegoat, but I do wonder what he brings to the table other than pace. Few times he got into decent positions, then struggled to decide what to do next, and ending up doing nothing.

I don't get this home and away argument at the minute. I'm sure someone with more time on their hands than me, could research it, and probably prove me wrong, but it seems to me, without fans, the home or away thing doesn't really count for much at the minute.

On another day we could have won it. Their keeper was by far the busier of the two. Just seemed we didn't have enough confidence in ourselves to believe we could win. Which is strange after the result in Paris.

A decent point, rather than a good one. I don't like the idea of setting up so cautiously against teams on a similar level, and hopefully it doesn't become a regular occurrence like it did under previous managers.

Good post pal. I think Ole was a touch pragmatic but recognised the quality Chelsea have in attacking positions.

I think he tried to win the game from the bench which almost worked with Cavani and Pogba both having decent half chances.

If we win 1-0 he's a tactical genius where a draw or defeat exposes him for being negative. Football at the highest level is often decided by the finest of margins.

A draw isn't the end of the world in a game we never really looked in trouble sandwiched in the middle of some very difficult fixtures. Our next few games will probably determine if a point was a decent result or not.

I've no real issues with the tactics, DLIB. Chelsea are a good side. And I like to see that Ole is able to change things about when needed. I read another poster say that they thought Ole was trying to be too smart with his set up yesterday. Yet others claim he's tactically inept and incapable of changing things! Damned both ways.

I just thought we seemed a little hesitant, a little too much on the back foot, for a team that just came back off that great result in Paris.

Not the end of the world, but like you say, things will be a lot clearer after this little run of games. What does give me hope, is Ole getting it right more often than not against the top teams.

Your right noucamp. Chelsea were very little threat. We played a destructive midfield and it nullified them. Ole achieved his primary objective yesterday as far as i can see.

Regular occurrence Nou? Have you not been watching us the last year or so, we do it all the time.

I have Angel. And the odd game aside, I can say I've enjoyed the way we play more than I have done in the last 7 or 8 years. People have short memories as to just how hard we were to watch under the last three managers.

The fact that Lampard was pretty happy with a draw whilst Ole was disappointed shows who wanted it more.

Although he is a young and unknown at the minute I would rather give game time to pellestri than James.
I don't want to sound harsh on James but he isn't good enough, everytime he gets the ball he loses it or he is off side. He looks lost. Maybe a loan would do him the world of good, and help develop him but at the minute he just isn't good enough and looks lost everytime he plays.

Afraid I have to agree in James. He has blistering pace but that means nothing without any end product. He always seems to choose the wrong option when either taking a strike on goal himself or passing. Agree a loan would be beneficial. As would a run in the team to raise confidence etc in his favourite left wing position - but he just doesn't look up to that task at the moment.

Fair enough Nou, all different opinions of course. I haven't enjoyed United's football for quite some time, we have been starved of free flowing football that we will take any crumb now I suppose.

Ole wasn’t disappointed, he was happy with the point.

Red Man looking at his demeanour during the match and at the final whistle he didn't seem happy to me. His post match comments didn't suggest it either. By contrast Lampard was patently happy.

He shows little in his demeanour during any match and he said it was a point on the board against a good team. Ole didn’t want to lose and told everyone why, so a point was a good result because we didn’t lose.

If anyone wants to remember how bad it was, you should have watched the first half in the Spurs Burnley game.
