We mostly all agree that Ole is not a great coach. He would not be hired by any of the top six clubs in the league and that says it all. Expecting him to lead us to success is unrealistic. That said he has promoted young players and with the signings of Bruno, Telles, Awb and Dvb our squad is stronger especially with deadwood being shipped out. His successor should benefit.

That said the players need to take a long hard look at themselves too. Yes they are organised by the coach but to not spot themselves how defensively open they were and to concede goals in the manner they did. Well as many pointed out they were schoolboy errors. International players should be organising themselves.

Maguire Lindelof Shaw and Matic are not babies. They are all older experienced professionals. It's simply inexcusable that they did not defend properly.

If Ole can't organise them then they should do it themselves.

Attacking wise the team plays so slowly and again the players need to take responsibility. The lack of togetherness when pressing and the lack of intensity is down to individuals not fulfilling their job requirements only too many are not doing so.

It is easy to blame the Board for not signing wingers like Sancho or players like Partey but it won't matter who we sign unless there is a defined style of play that is adaptable to different match circumstances and a team who are properly coached and motivated to play with thought and desire.

The question is who can really take this group of players forward. I am not sure about Poch? Allegri did it with Juve but the Italian league is not as high a standard as ours and he was more defensively minded. Nagelsman is clearly decent but is he good enough to challenge at the highest level. Sevilles coach is excellent but again unproven outside his league. I know it might rankle with some but I do think Brendan Rodgers would do well. He is Used to having to work with limited talents and budget and seems to get the best out of the teams he manages. His teams play good football too. The person I woukd really like although there is no chance is Steven Gérard. He has a good football brain and is making Rangers a top team. He will probably be Klopps successor though.

Salford7 I hope your joking. Gerrard, get a grip son. It would cause murders on both sides.

For me there is no obvious candidate, we could probably even make Klopp look incompetent. I do cast an envious eye over the Bayern though, proper run football club who seem to have direction.

Oh just thought, Scholes is doing well at Salford, let's get him in.

I’d like Santo from wolves. He plays very good football and also looks like he gets his players to run through walls.

Grimslives I agree with you. Like your tongue in cheek Scholes comment. On a serious note why doesn't Ole get Scholes Gary Nevills and Ferdinand to come and help with training? If they are available they surely could help defensively and in midfield and might be able instill some more passion too

Blackpool Red I know it's never going to happen but I do think that Gerrard is going to be a very good manager.

So you don’t want Allegro because the Italian league is not as strong as the PL . but you want Gerard who’s won nothing in the SPL.
Lindelof didn’t play last night, perhaps if he had we mightn’t have been caught out the way we were.

Salford, you're either fishing or joking with the Gerrard comment aren't you?

I'm hoping he does get the Liverpool job after Klopp as I am fairly certain he'd undo all the good work done during Klopp's tenure. He has generally absolved himself and his coaches of any blame when anything has gone wrong at Rangers and throws his players under the bus pretty often.

Salford. think Ole has had plenty of ex-players around the squad, wasn't Evra there recently. Our defence was fine last year, second lowest in goals conceded, it doesn't fall apart that quickly. I'm not smart enough when it comes to football tactics but I'm sure the answer already lies within the United coaching staff.

MEN reporting United have sounded out Poch.

Salford7, your post was going so well until the Gerrard bit. That would be an even bigger slip in standards.

Stevie G doesn't have the experience to manage a club the size of yours. He is better off where he is for now to learn the trade
I have no doubt he will manage Liverpool at some point, but not for a while, and certainly not until he is ready
Frank Lampard is in too early @ Chelsea with no experience. Ole maybe the same for you. I thought he did enough last season to warrant a run in the job, but that clearly isn't the case
I don't think it's a case he wasn't backed, because he was. The players you went for were not available, not because he couldn't get them
I would suspect the club will already have the feelers out in regard to looking to make a change before the January window opens. But who is the question.

In my opinion we could do with a bit less of the ex players/ coaches clogging up the place .

Appointing OLe and him getting the likes of Phelan and Carrick as coaches seems to me like a pretty obvious attemot to recreate the Ferguson era.

There's just one problem, Ole is'nt Fergie and never will be.

TRD I’m sure on MNF Poch suggested he doesn’t want to take a job mid season.
