MEN reporting that the club have made contact with pochettino with a view of replacing Ole as the next manager.

Any of the eds know if this is actually the case?

{Ed002's Note - It is not quite as clear cut as that I am afraid.}

Poch is available, won't need to pay Spurs anything but does Poch even want United before we get to do United sack Ole and approach Poch.

Ed002, am I right in thinking that should Poch take the job here, he'd want certain assurances?

{Ed002's Note - As I have explained before, Pochettino is smart enough to make demands - whether Manchester United would accept them if there was such an approach, is another matter.}

I guess that will be the first of many articles. I wonder why Ed thinks it isn't as clear cut, I am guessing some at the club don't want to part with Ole just yet.

Ed002, presume there is strong interest from other teams and he may spoken with them? Understand if you don’t want to say.

{Ed002's Note - Right now Manchester United has a manager.}

Ed02 - are you able to expand at all please?

Have we actually made any approach to Pochettino? You'd think another loss against Everton could be the end for Ole.

{Ed002's Note - My understanding is that there has been a general discussion with a third-party - and no more.}

I dare say Poch would want to see changes to the structure of the club before he took over, insisting on a DoF, less interference from the amateur management structure and the ability to bring his own people in - which would mean the politically sensitive issue of clearing out lots of Man Utd legends (ie Carrick, Ole, etc)

Plus also the club not wanting to be seen as a sacking club if things get difficult.

I’d love to know more from the omniscient Ed002 if he has any spare time - or inclination - to add further details about why bringing in pocketino is not such a simple thing to do.

{Ed002's Note - I would ignore your thoughts about a DoF.}

I want ole out of the club. But he is the incumbent its hard to discuss these things while he is still here sure to sensitivity and confidentiality.
I suppose patience is the order of the day. Its hard but we will just have to wait and see.

Thanks Ed002, that’s a relief as can't see them making concessions on that one.

Maybe Poch will seek assurances on the ins and outs of players.

Not exactly sure on what the Spurs set up was but didn't Levy control transfers there? I know ed001 has alluded to poor recruitment by Poch when be eventually was tasked with it, guessing Levy stepped back, perhaps Poch was unhappy he didn't have more of a say at Spurs and would seek assurances at United. My issue is the club will prob give Poch them assurances and still nothing will change.

If i remember correctly Pochetino is very happy to not have a DOF as he himself likes to have a lot of control over transfers - i may be off the mark but sure this was mentioned by Ed a few years back.

{Ed002's Note - He is happy to work without one.}
