The rollercoaster ride I predicted continues. We may go to Germany and get something, we will win games nicely, then we will lose horribly and this will continue.

I thought after the first 20 mins we played ok, certainly should have scored a second, yet they also should have.

The difference at the highest level are those pivotal moments, often guided by the managers. I praised Ole for getting it right at halftime last weekend, yet last night again showed how poor he can be.

The starting line up was wrong, too defensive, two holding players. There was no DVB, incredible decision after the weekend. Then the Fred decision. He should have been sent off, got very lucky, but it needed decisive in game management, which didn't arrive. Let's remember this is a combative midfield player who puts in challenges, not a forward. Whilst everyone has to be critical of Ole for keeping him on beyond halftime, what were the other coaches saying? Yes boss, no boss?

So no substitutions and the obvious, inevitable happened, red card. However, before they scored PSG changed shape, you could see it, but we didn't do anything, no substitutions, no reaction. Go 2-1 down, Down to 10 men the answer was to bring on Pogba. There is film this morning of Bruno shouting to Ole to make a substitution.

There you have it, the rollercoaster, that Woodward and co turn a blind eye to. The only difference this time is that the Fred decision was so obviously incompetent that it would be hard for anyone to defend, if he ignored his coaches that's worse.

Spot on Red Man. Arguably Ole’s worst game. Blunders before and during that a Sunday league coach wouldn’t have made if managing last night. So frustrating words fail.

Its almost as if he wanted us to lose this one, Red Man. That is the only plausible explanation to keeping Fred on beyond halftime. I mean anyone could have seen it. Fred would have been sent off for as much as breathing on a PSG player yet somehow our GOAT manager couldn't see it or react. How on earth did he get the managerial badges? After the sending off and going down 2-1, he setup to defend that loss, he was holding on to that scoreline. Chasing a game and we ended up with one striker on the pitch when we started with 3? After the first 20 minutes, PSG were all over the place and our pace in behind was scaring them to bits. We should have scored a few but even so keeping Fred on only played into their hands. I don't think the players take any blame for the loss yesterday, they put everything on the line, i couldn't specifically put a blame on anyone saying they didn't put a shift in, besides Ole.

Ole somehow got it right at the weekend and then screwed us over yesterday.

Too defensive? Two energetic holding mids is exactly what was needed in this game. When you have two slow CB you need legs and work rate in midfield when playing against Neymar and Mbappe.

Yes, in hind sight Fred should have come off. No idea what he was thinking with the head butt, but that second yellow was never a foul. Personally it was only bad finishing from Martial that lost us that game IMO.

Not saying no criticism should fall on Ole but I think it's a little harsh when only the bar stopped us from going on to win the game against last year's finalists.

Obi

They hit the bar as well so it wasn’t the bar that stopped us

Hindsight, that’s after the event. Look at live chat we all said it at the time, that isn’t hindsight, that is plain mismanagement from Ole. Awful lack of management.

I thought the starting line up was perfect.
We needed two CDM to cover our slow Center Backs.
Therefore having both Fred and McTominay against elite attackers was obvious.

But Ole's decision to not sub Fred off and poor finishing cost us the game.

Its worth noting that Fernandes missed a great chance aswell last night. I thought he was hit n miss last night.

Was Bruno not making the bench aware of Rashford's injury, hence the need for a sub? That's what I took it as.

Ole nearly admitted in interview he should have replaced Fred, but stopped himself at the last minute. Poor decision.

As for the post above saying he tried to lose the game on purpose, for once, words fail me.

It doesn't matter to me anymore what Ole supporters think Stevie. Words fail you, Ole keeps failing us. Buffoon.

Not subbing Fred, the only logical explanation seems that he either wanted Fred sent off or lose the game.

Nou

Bruno may well have been doing that.

The Fred decision is a shocker. We want to be seen as a big club, competing at the top, yet that is mismanagement. It wouldn’t happen in Sunday league level stuff. In honesty I think it was because Ole couldn’t react, couldn’t see an alternative without how he had set it up to include Fred at the start. He has displayed that a few times, but that was probably the most glaring of all.

It’s done, we still have a chance, but again, it showed in game management is just not good enough to be in charge at this level, frozen in the headlights is not a good look for our manager.

For everyone saying that playing two DMs was the correct call with two slow CBs, why not pick Tuanzebe who is a faster CB?

Mancman
Because he was suspended.

Tuanzebe was suspended after receiving 2 yellow cards in previous fixtures.

Shan, the word, 'logical' looks so out of place in any of your posts.
