Here’s a question if it hasn’t been asked before:

Would Sir Alex have won anything with the current squad?

I think he would - look at how he inspired his last team to win the title, a team inferior to today’s. Man management and square pegs in square holes, each with a clear job to perform.

I like what Ollie’s done to change the culture around at the club but he was always going to be a stop-gap until a better manager came in to add the finishing touches.

Thus, I think that the league is very open this.

Wallace, that team was old but nowhere near inferior, they were serial winners. RVP, Rooney, Ferdinand, Carrick, Evra all knew what it was to play for the club and win trophies. This bunch is soft and inconsistent.

Hard to say, but I don’t think we’d have ended up with some of the dross we have now had SAF stayed on. The man certainly spent a lot in his day, but nowhere near as much as some of his successors. Had he been given that kind of money I’ve no doubt we would have continued to dominate the Premier League and added a few more Champions League trophies to the cabinet too.

It’s somewhat irrelevant though really. The real question is, does anybody see Ole winning trophies with the squad we have now?

I’m with you R7, can’t see them winning anything until better manager comes in.

Becks58 fergies greatest achievement was winning the title with that team of oaps and a pissed up Rooney, the standard of play was poor lots of scrappy wins/ draws.

He and the board left Moyes with mission impossible, total rebuild with no real money to spend.

Wallace

I answered that very question a few days ago. SAF was a leader and a brilliant motivator, we would definitely have been challenging and yes we would have been winning something with this team. It may be disjointed but SAF got players to play well beyond capabilities, such was his greatness. As to Ole, I can’t see it, fail when it matters.

They did spend money Mr. Klopp.
But they did not spend it wisely.

There doesn't seem to be a coherent strategy about the system we want to play and the players we need to recruit.
