Let's start a debate.

You need to take 1 Cb out the team. Lindelof or Maguire who you picking?

For me I'd take out Maguire. Overall probably the better defender physically but his overall game is so poor and I think that's what will cost us.

A captain is meant to get the best out of everyone, but Maguire seems to get the worst out of everyone as we have to compensate his flaws.

E. g ole playing 2DMs is not because I think he's scared to attack. It's clear he doesn't trust the defence. Our attackers have the ability to play some beautiful attacking football. But are they being restricted due to the lack of trust in defence?

It's sad because I think this is the best chance for us winning the league and if we are in touching distance in January, then we should go all out for Atleast a cb. Our midfield and attack are good enough but as we know, titles are won on a solid defence which we are so far away from it's unreal.

Taking either out a bonus. Lindelof’s aerial weaknesses are regularly exposed. Tuanzebe needs more game time and will improve whoever he plays with. If we want a higher line then it has to be Maguire that goes. Turns like an oil tanker.

I would partner the new CB with lindleof. He is getting better aerially and he is has been much better than McGuire on the ball, positioning and leading the back line. Plus our captain needs a kick up the back side to up his game. Playing every minute is not going to do that. Maybe dropping him will.

On a side note, really gutted about Tuanzebe being jbjured so often. He would have made an excellent partner for Lindelof or McGuire.

Maguire for EPL and Lindelof for Europe.
Maguire lacks pace and Lindelof gets bullied.

Tuanzebe's injuries are frustrating. After having a great game against PSG, we have hardly seen him.
Same with Bailly, often injured.

We don't gave any serious competition for Maguire and Lindelof.

I'd be looking for a partner for Lindelof personally rather than Maguire. However, I accept that given the fees paid and the fact of the captaincy the reality is we will be looking for a partner for Maguire.

For me all of Maguire's best traits are physical, what he lacks, other than pace, is a good reading and understanding of the game. You can survive easily enough without pace as long as your reading and positioning are good. Like Paolo Maldini said "if you need to make a tackle then you've already made the mistake".

Lindelof's only weakness is aerially he can get bullied. However, that is an easy fix. Sometimes it's better to accept that you aren't going to win the first ball. What you can do is use your body to make it as difficult as possible for the opposition to win the ball cleanly, then focus on winning the second ball.

It's been OGS reluctance to play Tuabzebe aswell. Both Lindelof and Maguire are garbage. If they were a CB pairing at another club, we would all be laughing at them, that is the honesr truth.
