So we start the new year joint top, truth is we have been playing well over the last 12 month.
We have moved a few players out since ole arrived and imo bought quite well, squad looks a lot better .
Still haven't hit top gear yet which isn't necessarily a bad thing .
Been impressed with villa this year and I know I havd said it before but grealish looks a united player to me.

I don't like his diving antics jred, but today I don't think he was too bad at all. He got kicked more than he took a dive, which is okay with me for a flare player to even up the score like that.

His creativity is undeniable. He creates chances and helps to unlock defenses. I said on live chat that villa are missing a better striker, if they had Jiminez they would be a very dangerous team.

He also works pretty hard for a flare 10/ 11 type player.

I don't really like him, but I think he could take us to another level playing wide right/ inside forward.

Grealish has definitely won me over. He’s looked absolutely fantastic since coming back from lockdown. I still think we’d need a better holding mid if the plan was to play him and Bruno together, but he’d be a real asset nonetheless.

Grealish troubled us the entire match from the left and right.
Looks to have taken a step up.
Creates genuine chances and glides past players.

He is also really good at shielding the ball.

I said last year Grealish is one of the best players in the league. A few shot me down with comments like "fur coat no knickers". I'll say it again, he is class and I would love him at untied, I can't see it happening now unfortunately. I thought we were excellent last night against a team that won't lose too many this year.

I disagree that we’ve played well for 12 months and who says we’ve got another gear?

We’ve played well in patches, awful at times and scintillating at others. We’ve played much better recently as we did after the restart, yet at the start of the season we were very poor and did not play well at all against West Brom, City, Arsenal nor Chelsea.

The league is more even than ever now that the majority of teams have spent money. Villa and Leeds have spent tens of thousands, Sheff Utd £30m+ on an unproven striker. Only Burnley haven’t spent.

I think games are much more competitive now and we won’t see the 3-0 and 4-1 run of games which we saw at times in yesteryear. Almost every team has expensive talent resulting in tougher fixtures.

So full credit to Ole and the boys for grinding out the performances of late. Long may this continue.

Wazza the fact is we have picked up points over the last 12 month .
Lost 3 league games is it since the scouse defeat 12 month ago and that was at the start of the season when we looked under cooked.
Everyone is entitled to an opinion but after finishing 3rd last year we now sit joint top .
That woud suggest we are doing well woukd it not?

Yes jred we are doing exceptionally well. I’m not disagreeing with that.

You said we’ve played well for 12 months and implied nobody can disagree with that. But I and many others do disagree. Playing well and winning games are not necessarily one and the same.

You can’t honestly tell us that you think we’ve played well consistently for 12 months. From September through to mid-December we had only a handful of good performances.

Although we are playing much better now than At the start of the season.

We are 2nd now and not in a relegation battle like some of the extremists suggested, so we can all enjoy that 🙌.

People havd posted a lot about the team and the manager over that period .
Relegation inept championship quality blah blah blah .
Yet the target was top 4 last season we finished 3rd .
This season we sit joint top or second which ever way you want to look at it .
It was a difficult start to thd season for everyone infact it has been a difficult 12 month .
But while judging united people seem to forget the circumstances.
The facts are we have done well over the last 12 month even if people dong want yo admit it.
