I read some interesting things, thought it may interest the members here in case some missed it.

Mufc are taking a data-driven approach to recruitment and sports science. Solskjær has overhauled the backroom staff and brought in or promoted staff in coaching, sports science, strength and conditioning, recruitment, youth and data analysis departments.

Solskjær feels he can change up to 20% of the team each season. His door at Carrington remains open and his team go and talk to him with their ideas. They were less likely to do that under José Mourinho, but Solskjær likes to share responsibility.

When the rest of the staff took time off in the international break, Solskjær stayed in Manchester. He’s shown a huge amount of interest in the youth system and was personally involved for the signings of Facundo Pellistri and Hannibal Mejbri.

Martyn Pert arrived at the start of last season and has a masters in sports science, also having studied Bielsa’s methods. A role of his is maximising training for #mufc players who aren’t playing, needing them to be ready when called upon.

very good post mdb, interesting reading.

I have mentioned before that it looks like Ole is learning as he goes along, let's face it how many managers had won anything or had experience before they started?

I'm enjoying eating my words of doom and failure of Ole, as I will admit I did not think he would last this long but he appears to be growing in to the job.

It all sounds very interesting. There seems to be a lot going on beneath the surface. It's been announced today that Darren Fletcher has now officially joined the coaching staff, but there are whispers that he has been involved in an advisory capacity over the past month or so. Which interestingly coincides with us picking up our form.

Lots of interesting stuff happening, and it will be fun to see how it all pans out.

Darren Fletcher been brought into the first team coaching set-up as well.
I still think Ole would be best as a DOF at United, but who can argue with results hey, the Villa game was one of the most entertaining United games I have seen in a few years.

Great news on Fletch, seems universally liked and heard some great things about his training methods and tactical eye, good to see Ole shaking things up.

Really? Heard what exactly about his methods? He’s been training the u16s as far as I’m aware. Not much to shout about there.

Like the guy but the sentimentality of this club is becoming ridiculous now. Ole should have never got the job, carrick hasn’t shown anything to show he’s a maverick and now darren fletcher.

got to agree with RedWhiskey. I don't know enough about Fletcher to comment on his credentials, but working with u16s is not the best way to promote yourself to the first team setup. we should be getting the best coaches available, not sure if he was in that category.

Heard from some important people within the game that he’s expected to go far as a coach / manager and I can see why. Just because you don’t know enough doesn’t mean he isn’t good.
